More NE Install Madness

Re: More NE Install Madness
thats not really gonna put a load on it,
Jack the car up, go into 3rd gear hold the brake down about 50-75% and brake torque it while mashing the gas down.
Drop the exhaust!
Btw, is this internally or externally gated? if internally disconnect the WG actuator and wrap a coat hanger around the flapper. You guys got any pics of this setup?

External gate...Tial 38mm
The ignition cut is like the MSD 2-Step where it WILL build a couple of lbs of boost at the line. Tried it from 3000-6000 and physically WATCHED the shaft on the wastegate NOT open (as dumb as it sounds my head was two feet directly underneath it while this was happening.).
I agree, drop the exhaust to eliminate the variable before putting the other turbo on to try...but I dont think it will be that.
The turbo made ZERO noise...in the driveway or on the highway. The car just like it would if there was a gaping hole in the charge piping somewhere.

Re: More NE Install Madness
I guess if you have a small turbo you would be able to build some boost, but with more larger hybrids your not without a significant amount of load.
If it is the turbo, I wonder what failed? is there massive shaft play? What about the screw being loose on the compressor wheel?

Re: More NE Install Madness
the turbo had no shaft play at all, its seemed ok even though it was a xs power turbo. hes working on some stuff right now, tryin to fix an oil leak and then hes gonna see whats up with the turbo. i just honestly dont get it

alright heres where i stand. I fixed my oil leak tonight. pulled the car into the garage with no DP on. both sides the intake and exhaust side's wheels are spinning. tomarrow ill take it for a rip to see if im getting any boost. wheres pat with the pics?
