Default Which is more functional with a hood scoop.

I want to put an scoop on my hood, but I not sure which would be more function.

1. have an intercooler mounted on top of the engine bay where the scoop is located (like the wrx).

2. have the intake pipe leading up to the scoop.

Anyone know which is more functional?

None of the above. No scoop. You want the intercooler AWAY from heat. Putting it above the engine is not away from heat. What kind of scoop are you talking about? There is this guy in my town with some sort of Nissan car and he has a HUGE super stock scoop on his car. Its a Nissan and it is stock and it is not fast. He also has hydrolics on it. Its almost the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

Who thinks of this stuff? Why would you want to put your ic on top of your motor? Because the wrx does? If you notice, the aftermarket ic for the wrx is a front mount. I don't know...

I dont want to do a front mount in front of the radiator because I'm already running a small d15y8 radiator. I might stick it in front of the A/C. I wonder about the idea of a passanger side mount IC and hood scoop.

Why are you so set on getting a scoop?

if you set it on the motor.. your gonna get massive heat soak..

do a SMIC and a small hood scoop on the side.

the reason I want a scoop i because i think one would really look sharp on a del sol. I guess its going to be more for style, and do a SMIC on the side or something. are those SMIC effient enough for 6psi from a TD04 off a greddy kit?

The scoop will, for sure, make your engine bay colder, you could make it blow over your intake manifold or something. If you're gonna put it there either way, you may as well make sure it does something good for your motor!
