Doesn't the car have a MAF + MAP?

So if it sees the MAF open at a certain voltage and the MAP reading much different (perhaps out of range for the MAF reference voltage) I suppose it would deliver fuel according to the MAF?

It could have also been the shitty filter element he had on. But it did the same thing when he made the switch to K&N.
Overall it seems like a gay car to ---- with if you aren't using a standalone.

no the car only has a maf sensor. When you put an intake in and the tube is larger than the stock tube it'll cause it to go lean. A friend of mine has an srt intake and the hks cf-ti exhaust and it seems quicker. mines bone stock minus the drop and other ricer items lol. and Murdizzle, good luck finding a 5speed sportx since they never made one :P. I'm not going to bother with useless boltons, i'm going straight for boost. I just want to finish the cosmetic ---- first. Yes, i'm a ricer ^-^

Yes, that makes any sense at all. Intake pipe makes no difference as the air still has to flow through the MAF which is a set size so it can still measure flow the same way it always has. Think about how a MAF works and you will also realize how ludicrous the idea of a CAI causing a MAF sensored car to run lean. Now if anything was installed improperly or located in the wrong place, sure the fuel mixture and ignition timing could have been off. Any way you figure it, there is no reason for a CAI to cause a lean condition unless the person installing it is a complete fool or the person who designed it is a complete fool. I guess I'll also throw in the car manufacturers could have done something absolutely stupid to cause the reaction as well.

Well I have concluded that I am not going to put any parts on my gf's car and waste any of MY money making a girly car slightly quicker. I"ll just save my money, and sell the camaro and buy my next project.
