Mixed up cams? aftermarket no markings
will a car run if you mix up and intake and exhaust cams? i have aftermarket crespos in my zc and someone has written "I" on the inside of the exhaust camshaft sproket. this makes me wonder if this was my idle problem. but i cant see how the car would run at all? should i put it back together as i took it apart? Is there a way to tell the difference between intake and exhaust cams that arnt marked?

...
if i hold them straight up, (arrow pointing up) and imagine they spin counter-clockwise, the intake valves will open first right?
Both cams are identical as far as distributor side goes, obd0 with cam pos sensor.

they kind of only go in one way from what i remember. if you're eyein it up, don't forget the old "intake, squish, boom, exhaust" thing.
i would spend some time cranking it over by hand after you have it assembled to make sure that everything is lined up close to right and then just make small adjustments to get it perfect. or close enough...
