minimum age for HMT members!
jeff,
i think it would be beneficial for the site as a whole if you set a minimum age requirement to become a member. i just think it would eliminate the "what can i expect from this turbo" and other bullshit posts, kinda like this one here: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=17954 just thought it would be a good idea, but if not, forget about it. anyone agree wit me? -sean |

I can see where your coming from, but it's not just age that has to do with it. It's just people who don't read. And well, theres not much we can do about that but rip on them when they post something like that. ;)

everyones here to learn ----.... some people dont take the time to read ---- tho. i think ive read thru all the faq and ----. some people will ask dumb questions no matter what, those people dont really want to learn anything tho. this site is so much more useful then just, "hey, whats a turbo?"

If I went into Hybrid and asked what my compression ratio would be with a mini me, someone would help me. It's been asked before, and someone will ask again with no flaming. It's not that we won't discuss the same thing twice, just not the basics. And not if the other discussion of the same question is only on the 2nd page. (that's right all you GD reposters!!) lol :D

First of all, legally i believe you have to be 13 or older to sign up to any message board so there is already an age limit. To make another one would be sort of persumptuous(sp). Some people of blank age will know nothing, some people of the same age will know lots of ----. This site is about learning about turbo charged vehicles. To say "hey you are 15 you cant be here" would be like saying "hey you drive a toyota you cant be here" it would just be a bullshit hypocracy. Its like asking there to be more rice boys with CAI and body kits.
I say promote knowledge for all and whether you are young or old you should be able to learn. Plain and simple. To change from promoting knowledge to promoting censorship would un-American. |

---- an age limit. Flaming noobs is half the fun. It brings a twinkle to my eye whenever I have the chance to make someone feel like a ---- bag. At least the first few times it did. But on the other hand, getting flamed is the reason I never make it past 4 posts on all my other forums. What can I say HMT is the place for me ;)
