Mig welding, got one, trying to figure this out.
One of my roomates just bought a Mig 180 from Clarke and we're just ------- around on scrap metal. It came with .032 wire or whatever the bigger ---- is, and it is hard to not burn through.
you guys have any advice for figuring this ---- out, and learning how to lay a descent bead? I'm gonna go pick up some .023 wire on friday and hopefully put my exhaust together with it this weekend. Any help would be appreciated... |

it's at the lowest setting, and the wire feed is at it's slowest ???
Just burns when I try to fill the seam between piping |
Re:Mig welding, got one, trying to figure this out.
I've welded at an angle rather than straight at it and it helped some.

I'm already doing that... hopefully the smaller wire will make this easier...

oh really, I don't remember what I do then. It's been a while, but every hole I made I was able to fix no problem. Mostly because I wasn't testing, rather just welding on the final product.
