MF8's for HMT kit?

Alright I found this guy on turbod16 in the FS section about he wants to trade his set real 16" Moooogen MF8's for a turbo kit. Homemade or aftermarket. Has like new Dunlop tires and the rims are in mint condition. Now that was the 2nd time I've ever posted on that site and just found out I posted one thing like a year ago and this guy has like a couple of post. Now I've been talking with him through emails and he like's my $350 hmt kit I've been piecing together over the past 3 months. The dude is like hellyeah I really like your kit and want to trade. So I'm thinking hmmm.... does this guy really know how much it takes to make one of these HMT kits or not? I mean real MF8 are a pretty big chunk of cash to drop on wheels. Now the deal was for us to ship our stuff out thurs(8-26) but you guys think I should wait cause it goes as if "if something is too good to be true then it probably is." You think this comes into affect here? I think so and how many of you would wait until the rims came or if they actually did. He said he shipped them out UPS today and that they'd email him the tracking number. Now I don't deal with UPS so I've never heard of them emailing you the tracking number. I've believe he had them come to his house to pick them up instead of dropping them off. Help. Sorry for the novel.

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

make him provide a legit tracking number with insurance? This sounds kinda shady. have someone from here go meet the kid and look at the wheels? ask a HMT'r to go with him to ship the wheels? this is purely a matter of trust here I guess....

have you talked to him on the phone?

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

I'm gonna play it safe and see it if ever shows up. I'm in WI and the Moogen guy is from ME. He gave me his address and ----. Hell I didn't know they had cars in Maine, just fishing boats and ----.

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

oohh hand you do get a email from ups now. i just found out when I shipped my wheels and my ITB set-up. its a very detailed email showing where your shipment is exactly, and what time it got there, and what the package is (assumuing the shipper put the right contents on the form) i can show proof of this email...

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

I think I'll still wait cause for all I know I could get a box full good knows what. Hell I could some 13" steelies with mugen spray painted on them!

SkunT 08-26-2004 08:29 PM

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

yeah, i think i would wait to, unless you could meet him and trade face to face. this sounds a little fishy...

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

These are the pics he sent me of them. He even gave me a shot of the tread of the new Dunlop's he just had put on. You get the feeling your in a girl's locker room? Well have to wait and see. Cross my fingers.

That looks like the same pic. Look at the crack on the pavement on the left and the shadowing on the right

he prolly only sent you one ;) na, that's a pretty good deal if you only have 350 in to your turbo kit so far. i would wait til it gets there though, it sounds like you have no intentions of ------- him over, and we know that, but who knows what this kid thinks.

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

I did post two of the same pics! ;D I'm just retarded, but it's fixed now. For my turbo kit it's just a IHI rbh5 in super condition with no play and the exhaust housing bead blasted and had a t3 flange welded on(65), GTIR intercooler from a front clip I bought, Greddy bluebox(55), charge pipes from a Saab 9000 with some various CAI pipes(free), bov from boostedstinkynuts(70) cheapturbolines.com oilline kit(80), and a homemade exhaust manifold with a t3 flange and wrapped with header wrap(16) tapped oil pan I got somewhere(free). Hell I have less than I actually thought I did in it, $286! Alot of the stuff I got for free being that I already had them or the junkyard just doesn't charge me. ;)

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

damn dude, that's basically a whole turbo kit. all you need is a boost gauge and a dp, maybe you should send him the rims back and start boostin :P

stillnoturbo 08-27-2004 08:21 AM

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

I've got a turbo time/boost gauge in my car already but that's staying in there being that I took out the hazard button and enlarged it to fit. I don't want a big hold in my trim now with it not there and look ghetto. But hell it only cost my less then 300 for this whole kit and when am I ever gonna get the chance to have a set of Mugen rims! For me never! Hell I treat my Slipstreams like there real Spoon rims or Desmonds if you wanna get technical. :P So what do you guys think? I guess the only thing is that this is the only kit I really only put some care into making and the others were just to sell to make some fast cash. Hell if I get them and don't like them I can make one hell of a kit with what I would get for them.

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

how much do you think my kit is worth around? I mean it's pretty much everything besides a DP, and boost gauge? Hah hah your a funny man SCCAeg!

projekteg 08-27-2004 08:34 AM

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

it doesn't matter how much it's worth, what matters is you'll feel the boost, and that's pricesless.

SkunT 08-27-2004 08:39 AM

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

naah man, you could probably get some decent cash for it if you were to sell it. there is one around 700 i think in the classifides. i think you might be able to get that to the right person.

but yeah, as project said, its priceless.

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

How much could I get for the wheels you guys think if I decided to sell them? Good condition and good rubber? close to a 1000 or am I way off? Hell Kingmotorsports sell them for like 550 apiece!

i see them on egay and honda-tech.com for like 1500- usally. if they are real. :-\ search around for them. good rubber, and no scratches....you will be able to get a nice penny for them....(meaning alot of cash)

stillnoturbo 08-27-2004 09:02 AM

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

Maybe I can take a ride down to Kingmotorsports and ask for my money back or get store credit being that I don't have the receipt! I'm only like 1.5 away from them and if you never saw there store you'd drive right past it. The town(Sullivan, WI) that's it's in is like 1000 people including the people driving through :P. It looks like some old rundown building.

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

Damn Sccaeg! Did you see that ---- on turbod16! Calling me a scammer and ----. That dude couldn't show any vouches or any other site he said he posted it on. I guess my car's gonna get boosted this weekend! Sucks for him. This is the last letter he sent me when I asked him for vouches and links to other sites he said he posted the trade on and his phone number. Damn dude got all defensive for me asking him for this stuff?

" Listen to me. Since this is my sale and NOT yours you should have to send you product to me first. It is the same as if you were purchasing someting from you. Usually you send the person the money, then you get yours. How do you know no one else was interested in this deal. I had to let down 5 people becuase of your stupidity and how i thought that you were going trough with this. By the way i had my wheels returned to myself and if you still want to go through with this you will be the one paying for shipping for the wheels to your house not me because i just wasted all this money becuase of you. My phone number???? I really dont feel like talking to a back stabber who backs out of a deal. The pics you sent me?? It was only of a manifold and a turbo and piping. Thats kinda weird!!! Where is everything else you said was included???? I dont think your even sent the kit out. You were waiting for my wheels to get to you first and scam me. I dont want to hear from you anymore i hate scammers and people will know about this. THIS IS THE END OF THIS DEAL!!!!!!!!"

here's the link to his post on turbod16 for his trade for his MF8's for "ANY" turbo kit. http://turbod16.com/viewtopic.php?t=10542
Now where this guy got that I told him that my kit added up to 1700 dollars is beyond me. This guy is a ------- loser and asked his SCCAEG and I are the same people! hah hah. Post some ---- on this guys thread and tell him how much of a ------- jerkoff he is. Pfffhh.. "listen to me!" hah hah I could just see this guy just going off while typing his letter. ::)

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

Yeah maybe if I lived closer on the east coast but driving to Maine from Wi to kick his ass is kinda far. Big ups on SCCAEG for sticking up for a fellow HMT'er!

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

turbod16.com is a ------ joke.

some guy is threating me because i told him he was nuts for tryin to run 30psi on a daily driver, i called him out, and told him he was dumb. on his JDM D15B

people on that site are so funny. I did get a good deal on there though, a new block for $50, with internals. so I think im gonna stick with HMT.

stillnoturbo 08-31-2004 09:14 PM

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

I saw that Frank posts on there but I'll stick to HMT and HT. Funny how he keeps on thinking were the same people! hah hah

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

People bomb his thread and tell him how much of a fucker he is. Dude said he called my police dept. so I got curious and gave them a call. The woman I spoke to said he didn't hear anything like that and sounded pretty amused by it. This guy is just talking out his ass now.

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

I dont see what the big ------- deal is.

1. If you were sitting on 1500 dollar rims and sent them out, and then thought that the deal was shady, wouldnt you call them back from UPS?

2. If you were waiting on 1500 dollar wheels in trade for a turbo kit, and you though the deal was shady, wouldnt you wait to send the turbo kit (...oh wait, that is what you did).

The guy got freaked just like you got freaked. This is why you dont deal with such big ticket items over the net with people that you dont know.

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

First, the guy wouldn't give his phone number, any vouches, any other links to where he said he listed it. He only had like 10 post on that site when he listed them to which were most were in other peoples post saying he has a set of rims to trade. The wants to get rid of them for "any turbo kit". I never told him the ---- was worth 1700 dollars. Then the guy said he called my police, please ::). Why don't you trade for the rims if you think he's such a swell guy.

SkunT 09-01-2004 06:00 AM

Re:MF8's for HMT kit?

its pretty obvious the rims were hot to.

+1

BTW, im gonna stick to this site and HT to. BTW, im junkyard racer on that site.
