It doesn't matter which way you put them in a D block, it works the same both ways.

people have made good power with them facing both ways. but considering piston pin offset it makes more sense to face them towards the flywheel. the people that say it does not matter have already put them the wrong way.

Vitara pistons should face the flywheel in a Honda motor, because the motors have the timing belt on the opposite side.
Which means if both motors where sitting next to each other with the exhaust side facing you.
VITARA T belt <-- left
Honda T belt --> rightThe pistons will work both ways this is proven, but I believe this is the correct way to install the piston for maximum performance.
If anyone has any Info as to why they think Im wrong please do not hesitate to make your case known.
Post factual information, Not the usual well this is what my local autozone guy told me.
