Default May of gotten scammed, need advice

Well, I am piecing together my homemade turbo kit and purchased a S-AFC, WRX intercooler and BOV from an Eric Legus of Beverly Hills Florida. I sent him the money Western Union 2 weeks ago, he accepted it (have email receipt that he did sign for and pick it up) and said he was going to ship. Well, 2 weeks later, I still have received anything and he won't return my phone calls or email. I spoke with Wester Union and they can't do anything since they are just there to deliver the money, but they can provide 'official' data that he did pick up the money. I also have all of his emails.

I have tried giving hima chance, but I'm getting really upset. I have never been scammed before and he had positive feedback on Ebay under the screenname Defuse411 .

I'm not sure what my next step is, I was thinking of mailing him a certified letter telling him I require my money back or the items I purchased, but beyond that, I'm clueless.

Does anyone have any advice? I have seriously thought about driving from Shreveport, Lousiana to Florida, but I doubt anything good can come from that.

Thanks

I hate to tell you this, but if this guy isn't a HMT member, there's not much we can do for you. General advice though, if you firebomb his house it usually gets the message across.

tell him that you contacted the FTC and they said that if it has been 30 days since you payed, then they will pursue legal actions, if it has not been 30 days, then he has up to 30 to refund your money or show proof that he shipped the items, if not legal actions will be taken. also if it was an ebay deal, file a complaint with with square trade or whatever that ---- is. just tell him that you are sick or waiting and he has no more chances, that you have already researched and are taking legal actions and that you have saved all of his emails and the western union receipt, and FTC said that was sufficient. even if it is kind of b.s., it usually gets them motivated to ship your stuff. hope that helps, good luck. i was ripped off with a money order once, now i ONLY use paypal, at least that way, you can get your money back.

had to edit, if you already read this, i meant FTC not FCC

He's not a HMT member, a member of Honda-Tech, but for some reason, the folks there aren't as helpful as you guys normally are (even though I haven't posted a lot, I read your HMT everyday to try to educate myself and sometimes for a laugh)

Firebombing may be a viable option if it comes to that, $290 is a lot of money when you have a kid and a wife sucking away your car money : )

No kidding, wife's can be mean! Thankfully, she has a gardening habit that eats up a lot of cash, so whenever she starts yelling about car parts, I kind of nudge her about that.

wife and kid here as well That's funny, "so she doesn't ---- me up." I think all wives are like that.
I would say just harass the ---- out of him until he makes it right. Most of these people intend on doing the right thing, they're just fucken lazy and don't usually get around to it until someone pushes them to. good luck
