Making subwoofers work when they are the wrong impedance
I've got a set of 12"s hooked up to my home theatre amplifier... the problem is that whenever i turn it up too loud the amp shuts off.
It took me a while but i figured out that it's because the subs are 4 ohm impedance and the amp is 8 ohms. is there any way i can wire in some resistors or something so the subs will work with this amp? |

If you have two 4 ohm subs you can wire them in series to give an 8 ohm net load.

Yep. You'll lose the stereo capabilities of them, but who the ---- needs stereo subs?
