It's as fast as the vr4 but the corvette recognition is awesome. People look at you like your really rich, even tho you can pick one up for 20k (97-2000 or so year, 2001 to 2004 will cost ya bit more)

A friend of mine had a 90 240SX with a LS1 motor pushing 500horse. It was a track car though, very quick car, he got T-boned in a corner and smashed his helmet on the roll cage and died...big down.
The color of this car is way ugly but cool swap.

a local shop out here has a ls1 240 too. Actually one of my good friends has a 240 with a 2jz in it. The same shop has 3 1jz 240s and 1 rb25dett 240. They kinda have a abcesion with 240s for some reason lol.

unless you count a full second in the 1/4 close
about piston slap... some engines do it on startup because the short skirts, and the aluminum block... if they do it while warm there could be a problem but they are few and far far inbetween... some people misdiagnose "piston slap" when its really the lifters which its possible they could turn slightly in their bores
and the LSx all aluminum engines are very light... due to their aluminum block, heads, and OHV design

Re: LS1 in a S14 240sx
As much as i enjoy american muscle who ever did this ruined a beatiful car the 240 sx is a great drift car. Placing an ls1 in that car would ruin it. The difference of 20 lbs is exahggerated i'm shure is more then that although not much more. I'm not saying that this isnt' cool but i feel that its a wate of money, one could place a far better engine in that car such as an s15 or even an rb25.
Paint the car a new color. WTF

How is that a waste of money? Some import motors cost more than a crate motor and used at that... Its still a drift monster, even mroe to now, auto or not that car will kick the *** end out with no problems...
