The LS1 Engine swap....
I current have a 1uz-fe 4.0L V8 motor which I have built to the hilt...Nice engine and all....However, looking at the pure potential of the GM LS1 engine, that is easily able to lay down 400whp N/A with just cams would definetely give you the best bang for the buck in regards to choosing an engine to swaps...I think it was rated number 1 in Car and Driver for swapping...With the alluminum block the engine doesn't weight all that much either in comparison to the iron block SBC....
Any thoughts from you turbo guys....Ever considers spending a few gees and getting a motor with limitless potential?... |

wasnt this the guy that trashed turbos. said that superchargers were the end all be all need for motors. if i remember right he said he had a 500hp lexus, then renigged and said his was bone stock but his buddies was.

The V8 1uz-fe Lexus motor N/A built still only dyno's at around 220whp if your lucky, you need to boost it too get any real power...That is why this swap is being considered.....The lexus V8's weigh more then the LS1 and the LS1 can dish out almost twice the power N/A speaking and also is about the same size...Need I say more?....The LS6 is way more money when tying to buy one used....
Throw an LS1 in any car in this forum and tell me who would not welcome that 400whp N/A pow-wow? Throw a twin turbo or a big ass charger on that motor and it's over.... and btw. so your telling me a built N/A lexus 4.0 v8( which to me means building it all motor, head work, internals, bore, stroke) you only dynoed at 220 hp. please tell me your torque was insanely higher than that. if not, this means that your outpowered by MILDLY built honda 2.2 ltrs. which tells me either you or your mechanic suck at life. and if your mechanic built it you still need to end yourself for letting a retarted mechanic work on your car that probably builds briggs and stratton engines. Anyway, also never said the !uz-fe is a shitty engine..I live and breathe that engine and happen to love it....Typical speaking the 1uz-fe motors dyno from 190-220 whp on average that is with the exhaust, intake and ECU mods....I love the 1uz-fe motor, but I think I love the LSx motors better....I have seen what they can do when swapped..Almost unbeateable....Burnouts when hammering it while cruising at 60mph kinda power.....N/A.... Question....Do you guys know about Limewire.com for free music, movie, etc...downloads...Do any of you knuckle heads use the lime? Is that infrindgement when using it? |

to tell you the truth id take a sohc honda engine over almost any v8...theirs nothing like boosting a motor blowing it up and buying another motor for 100 bux....no to mention if you took the 7 grand it cost for the ls1 of whatever it cost and put that into a honda engine...the honda engine would way surpass the ls1...look at the power to weight also.. :y...bult honda engine owns ls1

I know this is a four banger forum, so what....I have seen these LS1's swapped into smaller cars like the older Supra's and they absolutely rip... You know what's funny I recently raced an older gutted turbo'd Honda civic hatchback, it pulled up next to me with all those little ------- gages on that dash, stickers and decals on the sides of the car, no rear seats...I armed the nos and launched and all I remember is seing the front wheels spinning out next me as I began to pull away with the V8 motor...Turbo lag and traction is the killer with the 4 bangers that are turbo'd...
