Lowering boost picture
im looking for the picture, diagram really, that shows how to lower boost. i've searched for it, and the link in the forced induction FAQ thread doesnt work.
It's the one with the side view of the actuator with the actuator arm cut, threaded and connected with an inversely threaded sleeve. thanks. |
Re:Lowering boost picture

yes

Re:Lowering boost picture
yeah that's how you do it. the sell the threaded long nut that goes on both the wg rod ends at homedepot.

draw it for him. i'm sure you know how a w/g works.

Re:Lowering boost picture
actually, i opened my wastegate all the way and it would still boost the same amount as if i closed it, it would just take longer to spool.

Re:Lowering boost picture
If a wastegate is set at 8psi you cant lower it by threading the rod. |
Re:Lowering boost picture
Sure you can, if the wastegate is cracked open a little bit it will only reach a certain amount. This also makes the turbo a bit laggy when doing this. Me personally I'd just find a gate that has a lower spring setting on the actuator, like a 5psi setup and fab it on your turbo.
