Ninja 250's and 500's haven't changed at all in about 8 years. My 250 was fun for about a month then it started getting old. the gearbox was great though it was a lot of fun on back roads.

500cc's seems to be a really good starting point for bikes. Most guys I know start off on these and love them.

If the ZX-14 doesn't suit your needs you should just get a '97 ZX-6R. When you want more power, just boost it. It's a rush, trust me.
