Looking into getting a bike

i know we've had these threads in the past, but search doesnt work so here we go.

I'm looking to get a bike to serve as a backup for when my car is broken (which is all too often)

I would love something exciting but the parents don't want me to and they'll be helping pay.

What's a good beginner bike that is still somewhat fun to drive?

Re: Looking into getting a bike

Once your get comfortable on your bike it will seem slow(on a 600). I never did any stunting on my bikes and I got bored of a 600 in like 2 weeks, I'm lucky that I've bought my bikes with cash. A lot of guys want a bike soooooo, bad they go out and buy the first one they look at(usually a 600). Then they end up with $200 a month payments, and the pay-off on they're 600cc bike is close to $9,000 and some times more depending on the interest rate you can get. $9,000 will buy you a used Busa or even a low mileage 1000cc bike. All I have to say is, don't buy a new bike. You can have fun on any size really.......Believe me, I've see a few friends go out and buy new bikes and in a year they end up with a bike that has 5000 miles or more and owe 8,000 grand on it, and it's only really worth about $5,000-$6,000. I ended with a 1000cc bike I never went any higher and sold it, I now have a daughter( I value my life).

if this is your first bike i start with a 500. Practice getting the hang with that and then upgrade to something bigger if you like. And no matter how good you think you might be your gonna crash it happens to everyone that owns a bike. Be it a small crash or big crash your bike gonna get some bruises

ya... definitley won't be getting a new one... i like the cbr's and the gsxr's.. who doesn't.

I think a 600 one of those would be a good start
