That being said, Domestic crap (neon/cavalier/sunflower) owners often forget who started the whole scene they are in right now, why you ask, well because when Honda first started it all in the 80's these guys werent even born yet.
The mid to late 80's Mugen Tuned CRX was the fastest street car in its class, sure it would get raped by american muscle but that would be like comparing a cessna to an F-22, Honda dominated the import scene and it all started from there.
So why did it take so long for Dodge to come up with a semi fast and reliable(if you can call it that) car like the SRT4? why are they trying to be like us? why cant they just stick to their own class and their V6's and V8's? Why dont these kids just buy a mustang? <-- Now there is a real car maybe not for the track but it does a great job of going straight...Hell it would probably outhandle the SRT4.
I am in no way knocking on domestics, I actually love old school domestics because I have alot of respect for these guys who restore/build and tune REAL american cars where you have a frame, engine, seat, ***...and several hundred horsepower at your foot...nothing can and will substitute that, not even an SRT4.

Dumbasses, thoes cars were never targeted at our group or people our age, the SRT4 is. the reason thoes cars had turbo's is because they were slow as hell.
I had 2 lebarons, one NA and one turbo, let me tell you, they needed that turbo. they werent ment to be tuner cars, the SRT4 is. did people tune them? yes, one in every few, but it wasnt as big then as it is now. I dont care what you say, if I had the money I'd have a Shelby GT500 replica tuned to the **** and would own anyone I wanted to, end of story.
I had 2 lebarons, one NA and one turbo, let me tell you, they needed that turbo. they werent ment to be tuner cars, the SRT4 is. did people tune them? yes, one in every few, but it wasnt as big then as it is now. dude you have no clue, i have not seen one honda made in the 80's in stock trim that has anything compared to a 300zx , turbo dodge , rx7 turbo or a turbo ford. if you think honda started the whole tuner thing you need to get a clue. honda is a highly available compact car and has grown popular and been made fast but by no means started any kind of sport compact trend. if anything most hondas have become more of a discrace than something to brag about . i am not knocking honda by any way but there were many more production sport compacts in the 80s that performed so much better.

eh, #1 problem is that its still a neon.
i hate most srt4 drivers. they think that because their cars came stock with a turbo that is the fastest thing in the world. everytime i see them at the track, im not impressed. they are cheap and pretty quick, but they remind me of mustang drivers. saying stuff like "my car has 8 cyl., and your only has four..meaning mine is faster...go pour some more uncle bens in that rice burner"..wow i hate that. may car isn't rice at all.
i bet the srt 4's would be faster if they didn't weigh so darn much, and they would be more reliable if it wasn't a dodge neon. just my opinion
ill tell you what though...i woiuld rock one of those omnis or shelbys. i like the boxier style cars.
