few people in my town have them and all but one think its the hotest ---- in the world. most are stock or with bolt ons but the one thats really fast the guy works at a local preformance shop and its fully built top and bottom huge turbo and after one run with the wastegate disconected he said it did 30psi @ 3000rpm and it ------- floats but other than that ONE they are garbage

i seen a bunch of them fags from srtforums at a dyno meet and they are mostly a bunch of wannabes. the fastest car there was owned by a chick and there were only 2 other ones i saw that were somewhat impressive the other 25 or so were a bunch of whiney whannabe bitches.

I don't know why people are always saying the SRT-4 is a shitbox.

The interior is a shitload nicer than other neons, it handles decently, is cheap, has a 6 speed LSD tranny, 2.4 liter turbo motor.

It's definitely no shitbox. I'd love to have one, but I will also be quite happy with my turbo civic.

5spd with over drive. That could be refering to a 6spd. However I don't claim to know ---- about SRT-4's other than a lot of their owners are extremely cocky - but don't really have a reason to be.

What they're saying about the boost controller is 100% true though. I raced a SRT-4 with a car load of people and it was a really close race, then he put his MBC back on and I whooped his ass. He was cool though and said he definately didn't expect that to happen, nice car, etc. Really nice guy, unlike most of those assholes on that forum.

In my "clik" of friends we had the fastest stock turbo srt in the area for a while.First time to the track with a actuator,intake,3 inch open downpipe,bfg drag radials,and 18 lbs of boost the car went 13.1@107.His best pass was 12.7@113 with a cel halfway down the track with a 75 shot and a few more mods.He upped the shot to 125 and 25 lbs of boost and the car was waxing cars trapping over 120 on the street(a few ls1's,03-04 Cobras,and even a Bpu Supra)His car had a lot of people locally shocked by his performance with so little(less than 2k in it)His car on the 125 felt retarded.Theres tons of videos of it across the internet.Cars are the best thing right now for a new performance 4 banger and prob nothing can ever take that title.

It is still "just a neon" But dude, they haul balls, a kid that used to work at my shop bought one and has i belive the stage one in it, it runs 13:80's all night long on Radials, it's a fukin rocketship...and after all teh hype about the car people are still shocked when they see it run down muscle cars at our local track....i am not a dodge fan by any means, but i can appreciate a car that is that cheap, that well equiped and still hauls nutz like it does....it's still a car, that is relativly cheap to mod and any 4bngr that runs teh numbers these things run deserve some respect...oh and that ass clown that wrote about teh bigger injector's in the 05 so he must not have been racing..that hjust fukin slayed me, i swear to god coffee came out my nose i laughed so hard....

13.8 on radials isnt a rocketship... and far from it ... a stock tt supra runs a 13.8 ... and stock they are rated at a 14.0 so to have stage one and radials 13.8 isnt that good in my book...my buddys ran a 13.4 all he had done was falken azenis's and running straight downpipe... all stock other than that, not even a drop in filter

What's wrong with 6 spd is that they dont come with it... I don't know what "boost controller" mod you guys are talking about. From what I understand, their boost controllers come in the form of swapping out the stock wg actuator. You guys are giving them too much credit. I raced one last week on cam2 (110 octane) with actuator, open dp, drag radials, intake, and stage 1 running 17 psi. Kid dynoed 275 and was crepping away on me. That won't happen when I get a clutch. Besides, mommy and daddy buy most of those cars for their children and half them can't even bang a gear.

See the way fans of a model go is by stages of maturity. In the begining of the civic fad People were so obnoxious and retarded about the capabitlity of a civic then we all grew older then 16 and relized what we were in this for. These kids will become a little less obnoxious as they get older. BTW this kid was argueing with me that there isnt a street legal honda that could beat his stage 3 srt4.. I peed on his car last night.

LMAO that is too funny, the guys that mod/tune SRT4's dont know dick about tuning anyway they get someone to do it for them, neon owners in general are pretty hardcore when it comes to running their mouth, why? well because they are trying to be like us but without the actuall mechanical knowlege on how to put together and tune a good setup, not all of them are like that but the majority, I think I know 1 or 2 guys that know what they are doing.

That being said, Domestic crap (neon/cavalier/sunflower) owners often forget who started the whole scene they are in right now, why you ask, well because when Honda first started it all in the 80's these guys werent even born yet.

The mid to late 80's Mugen Tuned CRX was the fastest street car in its class, sure it would get raped by american muscle but that would be like comparing a cessna to an F-22, Honda dominated the import scene and it all started from there.

So why did it take so long for Dodge to come up with a semi fast and reliable(if you can call it that) car like the SRT4? why are they trying to be like us? why cant they just stick to their own class and their V6's and V8's? Why dont these kids just buy a mustang? <-- Now there is a real car maybe not for the track but it does a great job of going straight...Hell it would probably outhandle the SRT4.

I am in no way knocking on domestics, I actually love old school domestics because I have alot of respect for these guys who restore/build and tune REAL american cars where you have a frame, engine, seat, ass...and several hundred horsepower at your foot...nothing can and will substitute that, not even an SRT4.

dodge has had 4banger turbo cars out since the early 80s???? with a whole line of perfromance parts for them... but oh yea honda started everything over here in our country!!!!! ::)
