A little update on my '03 Evolution 8...56k can suck balls
 

Figured I'd post an update for you guys since it's been a few months since I bought the car and since that time I've put a bit of work into it. It was pretty much bone stock when I bought her, and so far this is what my final result is. Mods are as follows:

HKS 81mm cat-back exhaust
HKS 81mm down pipe
Megan Racing 3" cat delete
Injen intake and upper and lower IC hard pipe
Turbo XS Type-H34 recirc valve
MHI 10.5 cm^2 hotside
Megan Racing ported o2 housing
Evo IX fuel pump (soon to walbro 255lph due to leaning out under boost)
ARP headstuds
Brian Crower 272* camshafts on stock valvetrain
Ebay catch can setup
Kakumei Racing exhaust mani S.S. heat shield
Carbon fiber spark plug cover (aesthetics lol )
Evo IX vortex generator
Innovate LC-1 wideband with digital guage
Greddy radiator cooling panel
Do-Luck carbon fiber lip (to be installed in the spring)
Voxx 18" wheels for the summer with advan 235/40/18's and
Stock Enkei 17" wheels for the winter with Hankook icebears 235/45/17
Tuned a la me with an Openport 1.3 Tactrix cable via EcuFlash
Boost set through EcuFlash @ 23psi in the winter and 28psi during the non-slippery months
Haven't gotten any actual dyno numbers yet, only what my g-tech estimates (around 380awhp according to it) so I figure it's got to be at least 350awhp which was my goal when I first started out. Hopefully with all the overtime I'm doing I can upgrade my fmic to a nice AMS front mount and bump up to a 780cc injector, seeing that atm I'm extremely maxed on the stock 560's.

Hers so far consists of Injen intake, Tanabe concept g cat back, Invidia type-2 downpipe with cat deletes, Agency Power cat delete up-pipe, boost set at 18psi via EcuFlash also with tuning done by me. Just opening up the exhaust makes a big difference on WRX's, and from what it was to what it is now is was quite a decent surprise.

I wish :-[ My digital camera that does video is all jacked up so I need a new one before I can get any vids. There's not much to see anyway, launch limiter is set to 5100 and nlts (no lift to shift) is set up on it, but all it does is grab and go. The most I get out of it is a good powerslide when downshifting and it kicks the ass end sideways. Gotta love the LSD rear and open diff front. :P

Not to mention it's getting close to new clutch time, maybe an Exedy twin carbon at the rate I'm going.

You're just jealous ;) The can is at least a 4" tip, way too huge for what I'm used to, interior is just stock MOMO craptastic with the fabric Recaros, shift knob I plead the 5th on...I wanted something with a little more weight to it than the stock plastic one.

Yeah, I sold the hatchback and every part I had to one of the guys off here. Big thanks to Ryan for basically funding part of my new toy lol. ;DI know lol...was just returning the sarcasm like everyone else. ;) You're right, people are extremely picky on here for some reason. Funny considering what the majority of them drive. :l

It re-animates the stagnated airflow that usually ends up over top of the rear wing. Yes, it is functional, testing done by Mitsubishi shows a 33% increase in downforce using the vortex generator as compared to leaving it off. I did actually feel a difference once I put it on, especially on the highway. It became more stable at speeds over 80mph where as before it would start to "float" a little through turns.

Thats cool that you did some work on it. The block on that car is worthy. I like the EVO a lot, Ive ridden in one that was worked and I can say that I felt the G force in my chest. Pretty impressive.

Hey! Good to see you still around after Chris's dyno day, you're car did pretty well on there if I remember right.
Yeah, the newer 4g63t's have all of the bugs that plagued the older versions finally worked out of them. A lot of Evo guys are hitting consistent 500awhp on stock blocks with just turbo and fueling upgrades. As for me I'm pretty much coming to the limit of this turbo, so perhaps either a gt35r or a PT-61 might be in it's future.

do you live in a third world country or something? lol. Very nice evo, One of my car choices when i was looking. I ended up with a different 4 dr ;D. Are snow tires necessary on that thing?

Yeah, snow tires are a mandatory for these in the snow, especially considering the Advans I have on the other set of wheels which even suck in the rain. The car handles very well in the snow with proper tires, but without them forget it...instead of 2 spinning skis now you have 4. :P

Yeah, hopefully a real turbo will be in the works soon. As for unhooked wastegate...I have no where near as much balls as you did that day you crazy mofo! ;D
