You need to know how an override trans works. You don't really blow the trans you just bend shift forks really easily.

It did run a 12.8 with a 420 motor but it never ran right. We always thought it was jetting or timing from the altitude change going down to Cecil. Here it ended up being a powervalve that would get stuck. That black one pictured has the same motor and runs 10.2's at 125mph.

I've never been on a quad that fast, but the ones I have ridden are pretty hairy at hi speeds. The steering is very touchy up there, especially on the street. :S

I think it's funny when people talk about how fast their basically STOCK quads are and talk about them doing 100+mph, but they really don't have a clue how fast 100mph is on a quad. Realistically they might be doing ~70mph when they think they're doing 100+. My uncle bought a Raptor and he was trying to tell me he had it doing 120 and it wasn't topped out. ::) Totally 100% stock and he thinks it can do 120+ IN THE SAND. :3

You gotta remember these aren't stock quads with 9 inches of travel. :-\ I mean the swingarm is lengthened 10 inches, the front is stretched 3 inches and everything is narrowed. I mean look at the difference between from the back between a stock and drag banshee:

Attachment 13659

And the fenders on the blue banshee are shaved in half to give you an idea of how narrow it now is.

Lengthened and narrowed. Same principals they use to make dragsters go straight down a track.
