Last thing you want to happen when selling your car
Well as you Socal HMTers know, I had a silver DX for sale.
Eventually A nice guy came and offered $1200, the car was gonna need new tranny fluid, so I cut 50 bucks out for free. He was happy. We filled out paper work and as the sale was finished, I asked him if he wouldnt mind driving me to work so I could pick up my other CRX? He says "sure, but you should drive, Its been a while since ive driven stickshift." So I say "sure np".
Now, Earlier that day, I had taken it through the car wash to clean it up, and the brushes were making the sunroof drip water(aftermarket, glass pop top) so I was trying to hold it down tighter. no big deal.
Anyways, I jump on the freeway, to head to work a few miles north. We are cruising at about 70 having a converstation, when all the sudden I hear WAAAM...... I think WTF!...... I look up and the sunroof is missing! it blew off the car!
Theres just a big hole in the roof now.
I tell the guy "hey, if you dont want to buy it now I can understand", but he was cool and said he would still buy it. That was pretty nice of him so I told him that I would buy him a new sunroof, which I did the other day.
But just to top it off, a few hours after I sold him the car it started to rain
LOL, at least its something we could look back as a funny story, I'm lucky the guy was really cool. We still talk and laugh about it everyonce in a while.
CLIFFNOTES - I sold my car for 1150, Sunroof blew off with the buy sitting right next to me, it rained I bought him a new sunroof.

Haha
yeah, after I realized that it flew off I looked behind me to see if anyone was swerving, or to hear brakes screeching, but nothing, just looked normal. I said ---- it and just kept going, but yeah its pretty scary, a sunroof to your windshield at 70 might do some damage!

When I was selling my first car, 1996 Thunderbird, to my cousin they were buying it for some absurd amount, I cant remember. Anyway the car had already been wrecked one and the whole driver's side was fuxed up pretty bad. My old girlfriend and I were taking it for a last ride to go rent a movie when a 2005(brand new at the time) Civic SI darted out of an area in front of me. I swerved to miss directly plowing into his passenger and he clips up the side of my car that was already wrecked. He was a really cool guy though. The suckiest part of it was my insurance wasn't on me at the time, at home cause we just transfered it to my Integra and I called home(which wasn't but 3 minutes away) to get my dad to bring it and his slow *** takes like 20 minutes to get there. I called my house 10 minutes after waiting and my mom said "oh I told him but hes outside cleaning the pool..." I was freaking out. We nulled it out, he worked for a body shop and agree'd to repaint what he damaged in the wreck. His car wasn't bad at all, just some minor body work to be done. We told him we would play it off as nothing happend. It worked, my cousin came the next day and bought the car. Me in that crazy ex split up later. Shes in rehab in TX right now. I'm with a new girl and shes great. I have an integra.... I dont have cancer. Yet. I like pie. etc.
