Kteller opinions?
I dunno about kteller-- they've got decent products for decent prices, but i've had a few problems with them. The LCA's I ordered took almost 2 months to come in because of backorder and ---- (which i didn't know about till 3 wks after i ordered them) and I just ordered their kteller catback exhaust. It actually came on time this time, but i mean for $230 without a muffler and just mild steel, they could have at least cleaned it up a little and packaged it better, not that its too big of a deal. But the other thing was that I asked him what flange came on the exhaust-- i gave him the product i ordered exactly-- and he told me 2 bolt, so i orded a 2 bolt (to match the dp) and another 2 bolt for the exhaust side. Exhaust arrives-- its 3 bolt. WTF? They make the product in house, how hard would have it been to just look at the thing and tell me what flange? Now I gotta order another one and wait another week for them to ship it fecking ground shipping from florida to new york. COCK BALLS. you can't get flanges at napa or something can you? ANyway, I'm gonna throw it out there that Kteller is a lame ass company :o. Maybe i'm just unlucky. what do you think? :S

Re: Kteller opinions?
I thought Kteller was awesome, I bought a mild steel 3"mandrel exhaust setup from him and didn't have any problems. Obvisously it wasn't just a "bolt up" installation but the quality and sevice I was treated with definately would make me go back to buy from him again.

Re: Kteller opinions?
My $240 worth of mandrel bent mild steel arrived as aluminum.
It took me a week of calling on and off to get a human to speak to - the contact number on the invoice was for some other guy's shop ??? and my emails went unanswered. At first the guy I spoke to was confused why I wanted an RMA and my order in mild steel - the aluminum is more expensive that the mild steel I was charged for. HELLO, MCFLY?? Little problem with lack of the correct welder.. WHEN I finally got a hold of somebody, they were friendly if slightly confused, and I got my RMA. It was just a clusterfuck and I got the idea they were badly unorganized. To do it over again, I'd try to get an account with a piping supplier and undercut the KTeller piping prices. Uhm, hey? Anyone know where to get two piece (metal) pullies? Diameters 2.5" to 5" pls. I need to make them wide enough by putting a spacer in the center to use them as dies in a true mandrel bender. |
Re: Kteller opinions?
looks as if they are kinda iffy :-\ i was going to order some IC piping and my exhaust from them next week. kinda mkaes me wanna go somewhere else.
has anyone ever heard of VRSexhaust.com ?? they sell piping/kits like kteller but they are cheaper |
Re: Kteller opinions?
I think I'll be coming out with a DIY exhaust kit a month or so.
Everyone seems to love Kteller, but I think they are way overpriced. |
Re: Kteller opinions?
good luck with that. overpriced? haha wait until you have to pay for a mandrel bender.
or are you gonna cut up 180 bends... bah. any cheaper and will not make acceptable profit for your time. dont you think if cheaper was easily done someone wouldnt be doing it right now? |
Re: Kteller opinions?
I just installed my 3" SS exhaust from them yesterday and it was great. Highly recommend them.

Profit isnt always a concern when you're trying to get you're name out for quality products. That's why you arent trying to sell your manifolds for the price of Full-Race even though they are easily comparable in quality. |

http://www.lindsaybks.com/dgjp/djgbk/pipe/pipe4.jpg Looks easy to make! :S A true mandrel bender has an insert that is pulled through the pipe while its bent to keep the pipe from distorting. A mandrell bender with a set of dies will cost about $100,000. Now you know why nobody has there own ;) |
Re: Kteller opinions?
----, i'm about to drop around 600-700 bucks on them in a few weeks.. me want lots of stuff :y

Now you know why nobody has there own ;) The design in the picture fully supports the pipe wall so that crush distortion is eliminated or kept to a minimum. For tight radius bends, you just pack the pipe with sand to prevent collapsing or deformation. If you wanted to buy a manual unit, $450 plus $75-250/size for the shoes and dies. http://www.vansantent.com/model_3_bender.htm Clicky the linky to the movie... that pipe look crushed to you? |
Re: Kteller opinions?
