i dont care how inaccurate a gun is, at 10 feet you should be able to hit a torso without aiming.

now as far as buk talking about keeping it around to defend his house. thats gay. shotguns are the best home defense weapon, hands down. i always have a loaded shotty within arms reach of my bed.
im getting my ccw soon.. so well see... but yeah i want a mini14 for home defense lol

keep mine cocked and locked, in the unlikely event that you have to use the gun how unlikely is it that the guy might be close enough to you that you need to hold him back with one arm. you gonna be able to pull the slide back with your teeth? when i first started carrying it was kinda scary to keep one in the chamber but you get over it.

mine has a safety cause its single action, glocks and springfield xd's dont have a safety either. it is scary to carry without a safety (carried friends xd before) but it gets more comfortable and you get real good at never getting your finger near the trigger. happy hunting.

What do you mean XDs don't have a safety? There's a normal safety, a safety on the trigger, a safety on the back, and some have a thumb safety as well. You have to depress two safeties while the main safety is engaged.

I'm a noob of guns so I might not know what I'm talking about but it sounds safe to me.

they have the backstrap safety like my 1911 and a trigger safety like a glock but not a "normal" safety that you click on or off like a lot of guns that stops the trigger from being pulled. you can still have an accidental discharge.

edit: looks like there might be a new option for a safety but the xd site blows.

thats a good thing.
It has an ambidextrous normal trigger lock, at least the newer ones, not sure about the old.

Really, looking at all the "safety" it has, I can't see how you'd have an accidental discharge.
