Default Kains project rx7 tidbits.

well... the project is coming at a snails pace. the spare engine i got is going to get sent out and rebuilt. so far, from what i heard, stock exhaust ported rx7's ccan reach around 400 and thats their stop gap. so i dont give a fucken ---- at all.

also as some of you might have remembered, i was in an accident. its getting fixed very very very slowly. i baught a stud welder from habor freight and i will use it eventually. its raining too much and its too cold. so imma put off the actual work tills pring time.

so on to this post. its a small developement in the life of me turboing my car. yes turboing. i decided this rout because.. well.... i dont like a 1500 rpm idle and have to double clutch like a granny to get it of the line when im driving to work. im talking about porting. so i opted for turbo instead. so meh, here are the pics.

other than that, you can ell i got the stock turbo setup for a turbo rx7. so imma work with that. even though i will be runing low boost for a lil bit, i will still have tons of low end because i will be using higher compression rotors. so yeah.

how many miles do those motors usually last? my buddy has one in his carport that hes selling me for 500. he drives a volvo and knows nothing bout cars. it has 180k on the cluster. when i popped the hood it has racing beat strut bar, after market wastegate, hks boost controller, 5spoke 3 piece work rims in the trunk, a sparco seat in the trunk, has racing beat exhaust and some sort of suspension that ive never heard of, question is should i be expecting this motor to need a rebuild? its a turbo 2 by the way

that depends. i would buy it if i was you. the car by itself is worth a ---- ton of money. plus, rx7 engines are butter. the can boost a ---- ton if your turbo can make it and if you provide enough fuel. but as i said, i would get it if i was you.

what does removing the flapper for the twin port do? quicker or slower spool time? what's the purpose of doing this.

i dont see why you got the intake, are you going to use na rotors in t2 housings? thats the only way that intake will bolt up. If your planning on just putting the turbo manifold on an na motor yout going to need a spacer that pushes the turbo from the block, and possibally a notch in the frame
