Just checkin in... few pics, vids, carnage included

Just floating through the forum, haven't been here in a while.

The cavalier was doing quite well up until a couple months ago. Finished the header/exhaust, smaller pulley etc. Went to the JCO bash in Canada and had a mishap.

With a 3.0 pulley and the exhaust I was running 13.9/14.0's at 101.6 Installed the 2.8 pulley (14-15psi) and ran:

Made three passes with terrible 60 fts on street tires: 14.0@104.22 13.9@104.88 and the last one.... 13.9@

I wonder what that last pass would have been... threw a rod at the 1k ft mark 13.9 coasting to 94mph
That was a fun tow from Canada to Michigan :( DOH!

I didn't have time to build an engine for it so I threw another stocker in and reverted back to the 3.0 pulley. Same setup I used to run 13.9's with I can only muster 14.5@98.7 I need to figure out whats up but this motor is "the suck"

Well I did manage to acquire a video of the car with the 2.8 pulley while it was alive, car was really starting to feel good.

Oh and guys, if you recall there used to be no tuning software for jbody cars. HP tuners currently has something available. I've been using it for a lil while, decent program. No wiring and control over fuel/timing maps, rev limiters, speed gov, fan on and off points etc. Huge improvement over my emanage which is now doing nothing.

When browsing the forum it's amusing, I see only a few names I recogonize, so most probably have no idea who I am.
Hope all is going well in the HMT world...

Sunfire was sold with the bad motor....

I purchased another engine from a local yard for $650 Also upgraded to a spec S3+ clutch and a fidanza lightened flywheel. Which is also why I'm upset it's slower because it should be better off at this point.

I still have the old head (which is in good shape) I'm hoping to build an engine for it this winter.

Sure there isn't? What about Megasquirt I/II?

Also 2.3 or 2.4 oiling system?

That's pretty cool man! I don't care for cavis too much but I like your car. I like the older v6 3.1l but I don't know how strong they are.
