Learning to drive a manual vw is an ordeal in itself. It's like learning to drive a whole new type of transmission, those things are bogus!

I learned in the dirt back roads of northern ontario. It was easy in the gravel cause you could just drop the clutch but when I tried driving on pavement I instantly stalled.

I learned with a Isuzu Rodeo. I had that car before my permit and I was driving it in the driveway.

But I relearn with a civic sedan, I liked that car :y

I learned in my brothers 85 Supra lol. Set out to not stall it, after I dropped the clutch at 3500 RPM that bitch came alive, so I let off then killed it. :S

i learned to drive a stick the day i got my DL.....

I bought an 84 Camaro w/ a 5 spd manual the same day and drove it home.

the only "training" i had, was watching my mother drive the Jeep she had.

killed it two or three time driving out of the parking lot on the test drive, never killed it again.

granted i burnt the clutch up 3 mths later O0

taught myself when the rents weren't home on their 4dr 86' cavalier. I was 13 tearin up the driveway.

teaching my girlfriend right now on my 92 teg. she says my car 'intimidates her' but I tell her she won't be allowed to touch it once I put my new clutch in this weekend. It slipped horribly 1st through 3rd gear earlier this week so I pulled right over and said it was her last chance to learn. Funny thing is it holds fine when she drives.
