Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/2306548 this thread made me start laughing so ------- hard,
but "2fast4all" left a comment that had me rolling "Its been 3-4 months I've drive stick since today and I go it but trouble with accelerating to much , shift at 3000 rpm from 1st-2nd and your fine,I practice in Test Drive Unlimited and NFS prostreet with wheel and pedals with cluch and shifter." |

Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
I think the "big deal" is from the fact someone was training with video games to drive a manual car.
I learn to be fast with gran turismo and now I've got 6 accidents trying to get curve faster by hitting the wall and take the curve :( |
Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
I envy people that can drive manual transmissions. I can't do it.

Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
i learned to drive a manual trans car when i bought my first hatch. the clutch slipped on acceleration so i learned on a slipping clutch first. then i put a new one in and instantly stalled the bitch :P i remember those days ;D

Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
I learned in the dirt back roads of northern ontario. It was easy in the gravel cause you could just drop the clutch but when I tried driving on pavement I instantly stalled.
|
Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
I learned with a Isuzu Rodeo. I had that car before my permit and I was driving it in the driveway.
But I relearn with a civic sedan, I liked that car :y |
Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
I learned in my brothers 85 Supra lol. Set out to not stall it, after I dropped the clutch at 3500 RPM that bitch came alive, so I let off then killed it. :S

Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
i learned to drive a stick the day i got my DL.....
I bought an 84 Camaro w/ a 5 spd manual the same day and drove it home. the only "training" i had, was watching my mother drive the Jeep she had. killed it two or three time driving out of the parking lot on the test drive, never killed it again. granted i burnt the clutch up 3 mths later O0 |
Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
i learned to drive on a bone stock 95 civic cx without a tach.... ---- i couldn't even here the motor make noise. first time i went to move it i drove off fine, then proceded to kill it 10 times in a row at the stop sign down the road. so much for beginers luck... :P

Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
taught myself when the rents weren't home on their 4dr 86' cavalier. I was 13 tearin up the driveway.
teaching my girlfriend right now on my 92 teg. she says my car 'intimidates her' but I tell her she won't be allowed to touch it once I put my new clutch in this weekend. It slipped horribly 1st through 3rd gear earlier this week so I pulled right over and said it was her last chance to learn. Funny thing is it holds fine when she drives. |

I'm trying to get my girlfriend to learn how to drive stick in my Prelude with the lightweight flywheel, but she won't.
I learned in a '94 Celica ST in a parking lot. Stalled twice, dicked around for 30 minutes, and drove myself home. First time I ever drove. Took to it like a fish in water :6. |
Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
Teaching a chick how to drive a stick is an easy way to get laid. God I love manual transmissions.
The truck is the first Automatic I've owned in my life, and its just not nearly as fun. I need to get the '86 CRX running so I can drive a manual again. |

Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
dad's only manual he had running when i was 15 and wanted to learn to drive a stick other than our two oil delivery trucks was a 69 GTO. nothing like doing a 4th gear burn out.
|
Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
85 f150 4spd, impossible to stall even though you dont even use 1st gear, I wraped it around a tree when I was only 15 :1 the weather was really shitty that day though.
|
Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
The first manual trans I ever drove on the street was our old 69 Chevy 1/2 ton. Manual steering and brakes with an inline 6 and a 4 speed.
Driving a manual trans vehicle really isn't that hard to do. I swore ehn I was younger that I would never be able to drive one. :S |
Re: Just browsing honduh-tech and found this
Every car I've ever owned was a stick. People bitches about it on hills and in traffic.... I don't see a problem. You get used to it and don't even think about it after a while.
