junkyard racer..yes there are pictures

Thought I would give an update of my car...shes pretty much done, I will be getting rid of her in about 3 weeks. :'(
Last night I found a new love for my car. Uberdata. This stuff is the ----. I wish I understood it better. I would teach the japs. :P
I finally got a WG and a down pipe and even a blow off valve. Kevin hooked me up with his old homemade MBC last night after we burned our hands to many ------- times tring to adjust the boost.

We start off with uberdata

next the beloved dsm 450 injectors. ---- boring out the seal, i just pressed those bitches in. they are working just fine. (i fixed the clip)

The HF manifold
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

The t3 .42/.48 snail. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with something smaller. This thing is a beast uptop, but from a dead stop, its a bit laggy. Also note the stealthmode oil feed line. the return line doesnt work well with a hf manifold, so I used something else, i dont remeber what though.

the ------ rigged wg. The standard t3 acuater as many of you know will not fit with a hf manifold. I mounted mine to the power steering pump, and extended the arm with a battery tie town rod from autozone. the part of the t3 rod that fits onto the flapper screws right into the threaded end of the tie town rod. you could still use that to adjust the boost if you wanted to. also, as you can see, I connected the acuater rod to the tie rod I used a wire clamp. It works perfect.

the downpipe with homemade flange I milled. notice how close the dp is to the slave cyl. :-\

the homemade manual boost controller -donation by projekteg after burning our hands trying to adjust the WG
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

The blow off valve. I dont even know what this thing came from, my buddy got it for free at a junkyard, so I used it. pipe and all. It was plastic, so everywhere it was molded together, I put instagasket on it to seal it. I also put insta-gasket in the hole on the pipe. Its working nice to. Not to loud, but audiable.

the super secret dsm smic
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

this thing works pretty well. after data logging, it held the intake temps under 110 degrees.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

the autometer/auto gauge boost gauge
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

if ever you wonder how many miles is to many miles to boost...its holding fine....not scared about it one bit.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

The autozone $7.99 ign i installed after someone jacked my car. This thing is a 100% pain in the ass. If you dont turn it just right, it doesnt start.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

the backseat. my junkyard kit/pawnshop bought tools. also back there is some fabreeze for my sweaty ass after a run, my cammies I still havent washed, a flashlight, water bottles, and a few mountain dew bottles.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

the beast. people dont even know what hit them. this morning when i ran out, I had a rustang laugh at me...then i smoked his ass. 8) the driver side door is still black.

gotta represent
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

thats about it. thought I would give an update of my car. yes, it still has the jb welded block, but other than that, the ghettoness is pretty much gone. the clutch isnt holding much past 12psi, so thats where we set the boost. the chain still hags there for memorys. ;)

Yeah, it looks like you didn't get them all the way in either. You should also make sure those metal clips are on properly. I'd hate to see a piston after an 8psi pull with a disconnected injector clip. :P

I would never run a turbo that small ever again. .42/.48 is ------- tiny. :-\

It sucks to have to sell it as soon as you get it going good, huh? :-\

tiny, I thought that was a decent sized turbo for that kind of build.

hahaha, he drives an 11 second car and is buying this purple POS from you LOLOL i think hes gonna laugh his ass off, or hes gonna tell his buddies to checkout "his mad jdm type r turbo civic"

and a t3 is great for that, for boosting 8psi mayber go with a t25, but a smaller turbo breaks traction alot earlier than a high spooling turbo, ive had a t25, t3 .67 .48, and t3 .63 .60, and the last one, the biggest one, was the best one it held boost up high and spooled around 4k and never let go.. the t25 would start letting go at redline... what you need to do is get a real manifold with that t3, then you'll notice alot earlier spool

That's what I was thinking. I've used a .42/.48 and a .48/.60 on a 1.5 and they both spooled damn near instantly. :-\ I like being able to drive without boosting if I want to, not barely touch the gas and you're at full boost. :P
