June 2nd

I'm leaving Japan, for good.

I'm in need of a car. I can pick it up anywhere between Indiana and eastern N. Carolina. Normally I drive straight south through Indiana and then across TN, into NC and across the state, but I can also drive across OH, and down through the VA's and into NC. Plan is to leave Okinawa, head to Indiana for a few days and then take off to NC.

I am not looking for a pile of ----. EG hatch or coupe would be preferred but I will also take a CRX. Also a DC Integra wouldn't be bad and I would entertain a DA but i'm not a big fan of them.

Just to make Kain happy, I am also interested in a 1st or 2nd gen RX7. I have found a few of those. 1 is in CT and the other is where I will be stationed next, The one in CT is pretty bitchin' though and if I left a day earlier, I could pick it up. Its a 1st gen, 1/2 bridge port, side draft carb, rats next removed, very straight body....its on the playing table right now. The other I found is a street ported FC right where I am heading to but im not to sure about it...probably buy it as a last resort.

Heading back to projekteg country. O0

Keep your eyes out. Seems like for the past 3 years I've always come across deals, but now that I need a car, I can never find one. I spent 3 hours last night on craigslist, found a sweet deal, emailed the dude, woke up this morning to find a 'sure, consider the car yours'...I was litterly dialing the phone to call the dude and then got another email when I heard the first ring saying some guy just stopped into his house and he sold it to him. :'(

nice to hear you are finally coming back. sucks about the fc being sold. i have a first gen rx7 myself that i recently blew out the rear rotor. i think i want to look for another motor for it, but i also have something else i can stick in it, but cost me a little bit to do it. they are nice cars to own, but to dd one, i dont think i could trust the apex seals if i wanna have fun with it. although about any honda will get you good gas millage, which you may need to consider at this time with gas prices.

That is a pretty broad area to find a car. You should find a deal somewhere.

If the price was right I might be willing to sell mine, but I'd imagine Central FL would be quite out of your way.

thanks for the offer. I think the FB from Florida is goin to work out. I will be calling the guy when I wake up in the morning (its 1150pm here now) to set everything up. Found a shipping company that will move the car for about $500- so I will have a total of about $2000 in this. I think its goin to be a fun car.

Re: June 2nd

no, havent figured that out yet. I will figure that out when the time comes. My father in law had a kawasaki zrx1200 and I loved riding that bike. It was comfortable, had power and ran awesome. He took it on several road trips, and was on it when he won the irn butt a few years ago

probably without. $900 is about the average price for a good rebuild kit, from what I have been finding. Pineapples and atkins is roughly $1200-

what? you kidding me. you can price them at or around 600 dollars.

What are the odds a JDM 13b-rew bought online needs to be rebuilt? I'm talking 93+ rx7's here bought from a website that also sells on ebay.

the trick is that you have to piece them together.

here is a link that will give you the links to everything you need. if you can scrape by without using new rotor housings, then you'll be able to spend like 600 to 750 bones. but dont expect the engine to last longer than 50k miles or so, although they can last much longer.

i would use 52% as well. you dont know with jdm engines when it comes to rotary. some people have them rebuilt by kevin landers at rotary resurrection.

i didnt have time being in school and working full time, and not having tools, so i went and talked to kahren. so far the engine is runing like a champ.

The bottom half of 6 of them at least, they'll stay there forever unless a comet hits the moon and wipes them out.
