It is motion detected, water proof and has s-video capability. It even has a door chime when the motion sensor goes off and that's how I caught the second ******!! I got the whole kit from Home Depot in the lighting department for about $150. The best money I ever spent. I now have flood lighting and more cameras for the rest of the house.

Theives beware - I will catch you and beat you senseless!!

how did you know my next move - I have looked into getting a motorized base so that I can mount a paint ball gun or something.

Reading ---- like this makes me reconsider the trust I put in people. I hope you get your ---- back Jeff, and in good condition too. Not very likely but who knows, maybe this sick ---- would like to keep the car whole as a prize. I definately feel for you but I never want to know the feeling of it first hand. I get scared all the time that somebody who knows what my car has under the hood will steal it while I'm at work or something, because nobody else would want to take it because I have no interior or anything else nice on the car besides what is under the hood.

Somebody should fabricate something you can bolt to the hubs instead of wheels that can't be removed without a special key (locking lug nuts?) and won't allow you to drive. Maybe some huge square pieces of steel. It's totally rediculous that you can't park your car infront of your house without partially stripping it yourself. If I were you I would not travel alone or without a weapon, because if these people hate you enough to take something they KNOW means that much to you, they probably have it out for you hard enough to try and jump you and try to beat the ---- out of you.

About the GPS thing...if he came home to an open garage and nothing was stolen, there's a good chance they might have planted some ---- like that in his car to track it or make it easier to steal. Maybe even something as simple as pulling the hatch release so they can just lift it right up.

Anyways I'm sorry to hear about your loss Jeff, hopefully you'll get your ---- back and catch the thief.

There already is...it's called a boot. The police put them on your car when you park somewhere illegally for an extended period of time. I don't know of anywhere that they sell them to the public, but they do exist. I'm sure you can find this sort of ---- on ebay though. *note* Having now paid attention to the link of the pictures I provided, I guess they sell these things on the net. Universalboot.com...how riveting. Put in all your info and get a price quote.

Havent you seen that thread where the kid took it off with the tire iron for his car? the club and the boot can all be defeated if they want your car bad enough. The club you can just either cut the steering wheel or spray the club with some r12 or 134a and kick it, it will break. The boot you can torch off too. There really is no foolproof method, if they want your car badly enough, they have ways of getting it. I didnt think you could get too much more secure than a locked garage... and they bust inside of it too.
