Jan 13 2008-update on first poste -Green machine, high boost rice

Well I told u all I blew the bitch up :'( with a ---- tone of boost and a lot of tire smoke (and no oil because of a clogged oil pickup)
Well I had the TT rods resized
New block and re filled
bored out 30 over
decked perfectly flat
micropolished crank
notched block
all new race bearing speced out for each pleace in the engine, nothing standard all precision
And friday the new custome made 9.0:1 flat top JE pistons just showed up.
The bottem end will be together this week, now I have to decide whaqt Im going to do with the head. I think it will just be a stock rebuild with new valves and springs.

:6update
ok well some up date picks here
after doing all this stuff to the bottem and I took the head into school to clean it up. After that I was looking at it a figured if I have pulled it apart to clean it I might as well do the valve seals, but If I do the valve seals I might aswell do a full valve job? So now am waiting for a head gasket kit. Acura wanted 7.86 or that a peice(X 16), ---- that. Kit off ebay comes with full head gasket set(including valve seals)for 50 shiped.

on top of that I was able to weld the steel to the cast housing some exspensive rods. pre-heated areas, welded, place fire blanket over after to keep the heat in. work perfect and bolted back to the turbo.

update apr 29

Well we went to install the engine today and had nothing but problems.
Joe started and ended the day doing the body work, hed did a realy good job so far.
me, WOT, Rishis, josh went towork on the engine. got the cluctch setup in, its so tight its bending the bracket its atached to. tranny on and we got the coilovers in, engine n but not finished. it was a pretty good day all and all.

at around 6pm I figured all the guy had worked there ass's off all day and where happy to do it so it was time for a brake. we hit up thease hardcore twisty roads, a good 40min drive through 40km turns at 120 in the 2 crx's and the sir hatchback. after a nice cruz through there WOT got into it with a built Type R(N/A built) and just wooped his ass. the guy was thinking WOT had a "K20 swap" but must off been put to shame finding out that it was just a b16a1.

heres some pics

update july 7
well this is the problem

I never told anyone but I striped on of the head bolts in my build :'(
I said ---- it Iv gone this far this bitch is gonna run, and she did just fine, untill I hit 11.5psi and the head gasket let go right where that bolt goes. so I pulled the head off and put in a helicoil and shes ready to go back together.
I seen one on ebay for 90+20 shipping to canada but dont know if it will be here in time or if I should just do a copper spray again? guess I have no choice but to do the copper spray again

JULY 17 2007

Well she was running and I did get a video of her running but its not the greatest
(Will be here soon/today)
I already changed the head gasket and put in 10 1/2" grade 11 capscrews to hold the head down and also uped the head TQ to 60ft/lbs from 47

all I have to do now is new plugs and re set the timming, and put the doors on and paint the bitch

so you took the time to build a motor, and put the money in....and then you went and bought the cheapest chinese knockoff turbo parts you could find....good move.

Zeniceguycrx 12-28-2006 11:33 PM

Re: heres my new x mas set up coming together

yep cheap china, But I never knew that a mack truck turbo that runs for hundreds of thousands of miles made by a very long standing company that also suplys tanks with them was that cheap of a company :1

Honestly, an HF is 3 times better. Statistically proven by statistics that prove it.

When your turbo weighs 10x as much as your manifold does theres a problem.

I wouldn't trust that manifold with much more than a 14b really. And even then I'd be iffy.

Sweet turbo though.

Re: heres my new x mas set up coming together

well as for boost i hope you plan on reving the ---- out of your motor. i'm guessing that you wont even start making boost till 6200ish. and hit your full boost at 7k. wich means you'll have to rap it to about 9k so you can stay in your boost range inbetween gears.

Re: heres my new x mas set up coming together

the turbo was pretty cheap
remand was 100us, shipping to canada as low as 29us. so you coud get one for about 120shiped in the us. The guy has more of them . go on ebay and search mack turboconveyor.

I plan to shift at 8 to 8500.
I thought for the price o big or go hme.

what are you taking about... I have personaly reved my mini-me up to 8300 rpm for the 9 mounths i had it in my car, I never once had a problem. and there was a local guy who went 11's on a stock z6 who reved to 9k all day and never had a problem... :o So in my opinion rev the ---- out of it 8300 is pretty safe on the valvetrain....

Yeah thats a real Schwitzer. The chinese would never make nockoffs and include fake stickers with poorly made turbos that represent the real thing. :y

Im gonna make a brace that comes off the block and goes under the turbo flange and suports the weight.
The head will be port/polished, and if time and money permit it will have cams and spring. This is all costing a fair bit of money now so the head my only be rebuilt and P/P for the bigining of te summer

Re: heres my new x mas set up coming together

Im trying to find out more abou it, but I know for damn sure I aint running a 1/2" feeed and a 1" drain. I want some oil in my head.

Im thinking of puttin in a smaller drain and feed so the oil will fill the enter section, it looks to hold about 1/2 litre of oil
