Agreed, but one could argue that establishing a democratic government (structured and promoted by the US) could be an insentive for doing business with them (oil). Just an idea, and it would work.

It's true, Bush is a joke. Kerry would have been a joke. Most politicians are jokes (except for a select few such as Wellstone). Iraq is fucked, as is any other country that has what the US needs, but wont give it to them for the price we ask.

knowing full well that the sanctions would destroy the government

its not us choosing not to do buisness with them. its putting a full ban on anyone who does buisness with em in the united states unless they have a liscense.

and not just sanctions but israel is also holding back tax returns from palestinian workers.. (illegal) and we cut off all aide

they want to cripple the fletching governement and or destroy it to plunge it back into chaos..
