sounds like the motor was on its last legs to begin with, personally, if the map was kosher, id tell him oh well.

did you have a wideband on it?

I think that if someone runs a boosted motor with no fuel management and asks you to help fix some problems, then the motor blows while "testing", it's the car owners bill. Everybody knows as soon as you install a turbo you're motor is in jeopardy of blowing everytime you get on it.

I guess it depends on who the guy is and how well you know him and if he would do the same for you. :-\ Otherwise I'd say he's ---- out of luck.

Sucks. Sorry to hear that man. :-\ Hope everything works out alright for you and it's rough since it's your buddy. That's why I'm hesistant on giving out information to people. Then again I always get the "10.5psi? No internals? It's going to blow" speech. What do I care? I'll rebuild. I own a D16 though. Not exactly high price GSR. Not to mention NO car. :-\ Sorry man, good luck with all that.

You dont owe him anything. Hes the guy who hurt the motor to begin with and asked your help. not like you were paid. But thats just me. I would help with install and actually set base timin :)

just JB weld it and call it a day. serves him right for not running fuel management. as soon as mines all together im just rockin the turbo without chargepiping hooked up until I drive to the shop to get it tuned

I love how you CAPITALIZED my name :D

Unless you or he did a compression test before you ripped on the motor...you dont know if it was half cracked already or not...you dont owe him ----. ---- happens...this isnt a cheap game we play.
