sitting that close to that intercooler there should be something between them. at least a wall, but a box would be better

if there was a box around the intercooler it would have just blown the box apart instead of the roof and windows.

depends on the box, properly built with a really big vent outside of the car i think would be fine

why would you built a blanket or a box around the intercooler when you could just make the intercooler out of thicker gauge steel instead??

Intercoolers aren't built out of steel.

It blew apart at the welds. Survey says: not welded correctly. A good weld is as strong or stronger than the material it joins.
