injector question for VG30DETT vets

What are some good recomendations for decent and cheap injectors for these things? I got a friend building one, looking for 650cc+...I havent fooled with anything on a VG30 besides a tune up and water pump, as far as mods Im clueless. I saw a st of injectors that fit OBD0 honduh's, I almost told him to get them and wire in a resistor box (i have clips), but my lack of VG30 experience renders me useless.

buy the honda injectors and make a write up on how well they work :y

Re: injector question for VG30DETT vets

they wont work. the 300zx injectors are side feed and honda injectors are top feed.

Re: injector question for VG30DETT vets

Tell him to stop being a NlGGER and go buy nismo injectors, there are NO OTHER OPTIONS. Unless he wants to go buy some venoms :1. I bought venoms and i blame those injectors for the destruction of the engine. Unless he has a 95-96 which i highly doubt, he could use SARD injectors, which are slightly cheaper, but you will not get away withou spending close to a grand for injectors. If he wants bigger than 555cc and he doesnt have a 95-96, be prepared to spend 1500 to 2k in things needed to swap them over ( machined lower plenum) and all of those 'might as well do it anyway' type of deals, i.e. timing belt water pump, and whatever bullshit needs to be replaced when the blah blah blah i dont feel like typing anymore.

Re: injector question for VG30DETT vets

No problem, i like to deliver information in the most jackassed way as possible. Tell him to keep the stock injectors, turn the boost up to 13.5psi and have fun. Even if he gets 555cc injects, the stock turbos dont support much more than 400hp. So if he wants real power id say he should have atleast 3 to 3.5k saved. Those engines are pretty damn strong though, on par with LS1's, but they just lack the low end that i like from V8's

why not modify a regular fuel rail, or custom make one so you can run the more common intjectors?

It would just be one more thing in the clusterfuck that is a vg30dett. If you have a 300zx and want to enjoy it, you better have the money to not work on it yourself. :)

Do you know the difference between side feed and top feed? and the injectors being under a manifold with very little clearance? If there was a cheaper/easier way to do it, someone would have done it already.

Only option are thousand dollar injectors

I know the difference, and what they looked like, but I've never seen them mounted, but there has to be a way. even buy running a custom intake manifold would still be cheaper than buying direct fit injectors, I've seen this done to a 350z in a magazine when they first came out.

yeah, ---- that. i aint fabricating ---- for this car. I told him just to get a MBC and a decent tune. He's intent on rebuilding the bitch, even though I know he dont have the $$$ to do it the right way. He needs to keep it stock but oh well, you people never listen to your Black friends, unless they are telling you to smoke up with them, lol. Thew car itself is 1005 stock, 1990 300zx TT, its clean as hell with like 60k on it. He fails to realise the low productions numbers and rarity of the car. If i wasnt ass deep in my damn hatch i'd buy it from him.

? like a bootleg DPFI setup? lol. he has a greddy Emanage, does that support secondary fuel injectors? I still dont get how you wolud regulate FP , i suppose something similar to a Jeep 4.0 Fuel rail were there is no fuel return... but then even still i dont get how you could regulate those injectors...

I shall do some research on secondary injector setups and then ask more n00b style questions once I come up with some kind of theory

and where the hell do you plan on putting those? there's 2 throttle bodys, and no room around them.

300zx = sell it and buy something thats not a ------- cluster ----

Re: injector question for VG30DETT vets

I've helped pull 4 VG30's hardest part is the P.S. bracket install and the 3ft long extensions to get the top two bolts for the trans. NOT TO MENTION, the bottom pipe for the turbo outlet that goes to the Intercoolers. All in ALL it's a knuckle buster of a job. And if he plans on rebuilding it. HAVE FUN the bottom end has some tight ass specs. Ever tried the Jim Wolf ECU.

Re: injector question for VG30DETT vets

I've done a engine swap in a z32, it wasnt fun by any means. And i feel confident in calling myself a genuis for being able to accomplish it. Actually if its a low production # 1990, it probably has the bad valves, or 'soft valves' which is ironic because theyre not soft, theyre actually to hard for the valve seat and eventually eat it up. He should just put full exhaust on it, turn the boost to 13-14, single pop intake and have fun with 350rwhp.

Re: injector question for VG30DETT vets

My vote has been to leave it stock from the get go. ------- Veitnamese ppl are stubborn as hell. But I cant complain, his brother sold me the Z6 swap out of his hatch for 300, plus I got to drive the POS EG around town for a week or two to make sure the motor wasnt ----. cool ass ppl but I own them at cars. and VG30DETT's own me. After doing that ------- waterpump, I dont want to do ---- else to that ho besides drive it.

The VG30DE manifold is a good idea BTW, chance being the heads are the same, and knowing nissan they 99.9% are.
