seriously. The reason that it's so unpopular is the same reason why figure skating is unpopular. Anybody can walk out side grab a soccer ball and kick it around, which is why its the number 1 sport in the world. Sure they're not going to be full English premier league status, but they'll have fun. Just like any two people at a red light can both mash on the gas and gun it. They may not have full Vin Diesel 10 second car status, but they'll have fun. Both figure skating and drifting require hours and hours of time and dollar and dollars of equipment. they lack the accessibility of soccer or drag racing which is why they SUCK! :y

you're exaggerating a tad. drifting is not really that hard, any hillbilly with a v8 and a 4 speed does it all the time.

circuit/road racing is where it's at.

Combines car power with driver skill.

Drifting is a waste of good tires.

dude whats your problem with japan being credited with drifting?
i mean yeah people have always driven hard in to corners and had the assend hang out on the way out of the corner but it was done with no style,no finesse,or even any intention
it was just a product of going in a corner to fast with to much throttle but japan turned that in to somthing of an art witch requires high levels of skill, ballance, and reactions to truely to it right drifting is not just going in to a corner and putting your foot down until it spins the tires and slides a bit
and done correctly you can drift a slow car arround a track faster than you can "grip" drive it arround the same track
