Atleast that's what I've heard. I have to choose 10 places in the United States and 10 in any other place in the world and then 7 "geographical regions" (WTF?). I just wanted some input from you guys on what would be a good place to live. I love San Diego but there's no air force base here. I'm definitely putting Las Vegas as my first choice. Maybe somewhere in Florida, Washington State. Maybe Jersey or somewhere on the east coast.
great choice! unlike me army.. but I hope you like desert living, because you are not exempt, good luck! I wish I would have joined the airforce, or the navy...and in all the services you stayed at each duty station for 2 years single, and 3 years married, stay longer if you reenlist or extend, again good luck. pick Germany.

rude boy hit it right on the head. go play in the sand, put that ---- everywhere imaginable, then go and have someone litterally sand blast you. it will be just an idea of a sandstorm, with 120+mph winds.
with that said...
and for everyone who said the recruiters suck, 9 times out of 10, the people who ---- you are the ones once you get to boot camp/schools. the recruiter doesnt pick where you go, thats someone elses job. the recruiters just tell them where you would LIKE to go, and you have to sign that, its on your contract. you cant blame the recruiters. they just do there job. kinda like a cop. you are the one who talked to them. everyone in this country knows what a recruiters job is. and the recruiter never lied to me, he just told me the things i wanted to hear. he said i would travel, ive been to spain, italy, portugal, iraq, kuwait, turkey and they were all bad *** places except for iraq and kuwait. if there wasnt a war going on, i wouldve seen alot more
ok, im gonna stop typin cause then no one will read this...

air force bases are everywhere, so you should have no problem finding a good place to be stationed. this is my $.02

I would stay state-side, and close to home. right now you are probably thinkin' i cant wait to get the hell out of this place, but trust me, after about a year of being away, you will miss home alot, (unless your dad butt-rapes you or something like that) but trust me, try to find a place about 400-600 miles from home. that way if need be (emergency or booty call or whatever) you can go home in a short amount of time. but you are still far away where you can have your own life.

I would just be ready for the desert. and when you sign your contract at MEPS make sure eerything is in there.i.e. bonus, duty station, MOS, you probably already signed one contract, that means 100% nothing! the moment you graduate boot camp, you are in. from meps to the graduation day of boot camp, means nothing. you can get out anytime you wish, and dont let anyone tell you different. up to the first year, you can just say, I QUIT. <- you will be a looser, but you get the point, but anyways, it will never see your personal record or anything. it will be a blank space. If you have any more Q's just ask.
