I'm leaving for the miltary guys

Hey, I'm going into the air force on October 19. And while I'm in training I have to choice 20 places to be stationed and I'll most likely be there for a couple of years because air firce people don't get moved around as often as the other branches. Atleast that's what I've heard. I have to choose 10 places in the United States and 10 in any other place in the world and then 7 "geographical regions" (WTF?). I just wanted some input from you guys on what would be a good place to live. I love San Diego but there's no air force base here. I'm definitely putting Las Vegas as my first choice. Maybe somewhere in Florida, Washington State. Maybe Jersey or somewhere on the east coast.

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

lol, he thinks he has a choice...good luck, really good luck bro. dont trust your recruiter not one bit. they dont give a ---- about you and youll probably end up in guam or some wierd fucken place. recruiters are worst that used car salesmen.

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

my friend got signed up on some bullshit with the national guard. he did it because he heard they have cheap hyabusa motorcycles you can buy on base. he signed up for 11 years and they can't send him to combat for the first 5 years.

if you choose holoman afb that's pretty close to me and boosted stinky nuts, so you know there's going to be a party going on.

RENR 08-22-2004 03:44 AM

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

thats fucked up. those recruiters are peices of ----. their taking advantage of the ignorant high skool kids. i swear if i ever seen my recruiter again......... id make sure he never fucked any one else over

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

aka area 51

Breaker84 08-22-2004 03:51 AM

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

hmm, I wanna stick to urban areas. How's New Mexico?

Honda16hb 08-22-2004 03:54 AM

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

not urban. if you go to albuquerque (abq for short) it's more urban, that's about 3 hours from holoman. if you love urban you'll either hate alamogordo or you'll learn to love it.

Breaker84 08-22-2004 03:57 AM

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

Or, actually I want a place with lot's of hot nasty ----- around. And by that I mean alot of cats and kittens. Beacuse god knows I LOVE animals! especially hot nasty ones! No but seriously, I want hot girls around. That's why I'm thinking vegas, los angeles or florida

Honda16hb 08-22-2004 04:00 AM

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

I'm not sure what kind of military sluts are in alamo, but you're probably better off somewhere else. I don't need someone else taking up all the hot nasty cats and kittens around here.

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

if you come to las vegas, the strip/strip clubs become really old, really fast. unless of course you are a gambling or strip club addict, but then you will just end up blowing all your cash. im sure vegas must be fun if you are a tourist, but living here is boring plus its very ------- hot. there are alot of hot girls here, but aren't there hot girls everywhere?

Breaker84 08-22-2004 06:04 AM

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

That's true, but I want a wide variety. That's kind of why I'm looking at these tourist cities. And yeah, vegas is pretty hot. But that's not too hard to deal with. I just went last month and yeah that was pretty warm.

Breaker84 08-22-2004 06:05 AM

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

Or how about out of the country? What do you think between Spain, Germany, Italy, England, Japan... not sure what else. But I was thinking japan.

quickcrx702 08-22-2004 06:09 AM

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

i would go to japan and give all the japanese chicks some american godzilla.

great choice! unlike me army.. but I hope you like desert living, because you are not exempt, good luck! I wish I would have joined the airforce, or the navy...and in all the services you stayed at each duty station for 2 years single, and 3 years married, stay longer if you reenlist or extend, again good luck. pick Germany.

rude boy hit it right on the head. go play in the sand, put that ---- everywhere imaginable, then go and have someone litterally sand blast you. it will be just an idea of a sandstorm, with 120+mph winds.

with that said...

and for everyone who said the recruiters suck, 9 times out of 10, the people who ---- you are the ones once you get to boot camp/schools. the recruiter doesnt pick where you go, thats someone elses job. the recruiters just tell them where you would LIKE to go, and you have to sign that, its on your contract. you cant blame the recruiters. they just do there job. kinda like a cop. you are the one who talked to them. everyone in this country knows what a recruiters job is. and the recruiter never lied to me, he just told me the things i wanted to hear. he said i would travel, ive been to spain, italy, portugal, iraq, kuwait, turkey and they were all bad ass places except for iraq and kuwait. if there wasnt a war going on, i wouldve seen alot more

ok, im gonna stop typin cause then no one will read this...

yeah, the thought is nice,(im a Marine) you cant have a vehicle over there till you are an E-4, which you may as well kiss that one bye till you at least yove been in for 2 years or so...and everyone around the military bases knows english well enough to talk to you, this is how they make there money, from the military. I would stay state-side, and close to home. right now you are probably thinkin' i cant wait to get the hell out of this place, but trust me, after about a year of being away, you will miss home alot, (unless your dad butt-rapes you or something like that) but trust me, try to find a place about 400-600 miles from home. that way if need be (emergency or booty call or whatever) you can go home in a short amount of time. but you are still far away where you can have your own life.

air force bases are everywhere, so you should have no problem finding a good place to be stationed. this is my $.02

Thanks. Yeah, I'm hoping to stick to the west coast. and the only midwest I'd be willing to be in is vegas. I don't want to end up in like the middle of utah where the city population is less than 500. And IF they send me out of country, I wanna end up in a cool country. Not anywhere where the locals are gonna try to stone me for stepping on their lawn. (Or on their camels foot).

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

I would just be ready for the desert. and when you sign your contract at MEPS make sure eerything is in there.i.e. bonus, duty station, MOS, you probably already signed one contract, that means 100% nothing! the moment you graduate boot camp, you are in. from meps to the graduation day of boot camp, means nothing. you can get out anytime you wish, and dont let anyone tell you different. up to the first year, you can just say, I QUIT. <- you will be a looser, but you get the point, but anyways, it will never see your personal record or anything. it will be a blank space. If you have any more Q's just ask.

Nope. A few of my buddies were in basic training when they decided to leave.. I guess you just leave.

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

well, you dont like make a phone call to home and say hey, come pick me up, you gotta go through seperation, which takes about 2 weeks, its just so you get dis-enrolled in everything, schools, duty location, all your processing, everything...but in a sense, you just get out.

cool breaker, it's gonna be a lifechanging experience. i hope this war goes away before you get to the military. whatever you do don't end up bringing home some ugly fat extra terestrial looking bitch. that's what atleast 90% of the military guys do.

Re:I'm leaving for the miltary guys

You will be more likely to get a base by NOT putting it on your "wish list" of bases.
Your recruiter will lie to you to make you think anything, as long as he gets his bonus for your sign up.
Simply saying, "I quit" isn't an option for you. Technically it may, but in reality it's not.
Pick the job that will allow you to be the laziest and use more enlistement time in school. Most of the time your job won't be applicable to ---- in the real world, so get a lazy enlistement job and get to school.
And last but not least, ONLY SIGN UP TO BE RESERVES. There is no other option to this one. If you need to know the real truth about what your going into, just ask. The Military was never something appealing to me, but if your going to go, please be informed about what can/can't happpen. -Steve
