Re: If you could build a spaceship
you guy guys are all focusing on the wrong thing.
We will have no need to travel at the speed of light. Quantum theory gives us multiple positions, eventually we will be able to cause multiple positions, and then narrow back down to one position. Instantaneous, like teleporting. Since time is a dimension, just like x,y,z, we will even develop the ability to travel forwards or backwards into time. We might even figure out what the other 9+ dimensions are.

time as a dimension is a theory. thats it...
i'm a believer that time cannot be manipulated in anyway it goes straight and never stops just like my camaro

Re: If you could build a spaceship
When traveling at percentages of the speed of light, you're not manipulating time. You just happen to be traveling faster through it.
You don't have to believe it, this stuff has been proven already, with the atomic clock experiment. random strike, you're just making yourself out to be more ignorant.
And how the ---- do you "modify" your frame of reference? It's not like you can observe yourself from a different point at the same time as its happening... Uncertainty principle. ------- useless inbred cuntwaffle.
EDIT: Oh, and for the less moronic retards of the bunch, if you go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_di...l_confirmation
You can find the equation to figure time dilation as a function of velocity.

maybe i want to base time off the top speed off my camaro. so if something is going faster than my camaro its going into the future.
right now my fingers are moving at a percentage of the speed of light... are they going back in time or forward??

Re: If you could build a spaceship
They're moving at their time, the rest of you is moving faster than your fingers. But since that's such a tiny percentage of the speed of light, the difference in the passage of time between your fingers and the rest of you is practically negligible. Niglet.
Just because YOU want to base time off how fast your Camaro moves doesn't make physics bend to your will. The fact is, an object moving faster makes time slow in its frame of reference, and that time slowdown is directly related to the percentage of the speed of light.
What about e=mc(squared)? That, for your know-nothing mentality, means energy equals mass time the speed of light squared. You realize how big a number that'd be with just infinitessimally small particles of matter? Still pretty big. But you want to argue about that too? Because that was proven with the ----------in' atom bomb. Same ----.

so the faster you go the slower time is? in your frame of reference... hmm
theories...
johnny's special theory of time & chicken
time cannot be changed in anyway, it moves one direction and never stops. extra crispy is the best.
