actually arabs travel at 1/1000th of white people. must be why they are still in the stone age.

of course thats a joke... or is it

24,759 mph
Apollo 10: World’s fastest manned spacecraft
In May, 1969, returning from a dress rehearsal for the first moon landing, Tom Stafford, John Young and Eugene Cernan rode the command module of Apollo 10 as it entered the atmosphere at a steeper angle than any other spaceship before or since. Their top speed of 25,000 mph is the fastest any human has ever traveled.

17,895 mph
The JASPER: World’s fastest land-based projectile
Last year, researchers studying how America’s nuclear stockpile will age began testing the properties of plutonium with a gas gun capable of firing a 25-gram projectile that flies 36 times as fast as a typical bullet. The 30-meter JASPER, operated by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, fires in two stages. A powdered propellant provides the initial propulsion, and then a blast of compressed hydrogen triggers the extreme velocity. Projectiles 28 millimeters in diameter are shot into nickel-size plutonium targets linked with sensors that measure the material’s reaction. The pressure of the impact exceeds 600 gigapascals—six million times the pressure of surface air, and representative of conditions that would exist in a nuclear detonation.

158,000 mph
Helios Probes: World’s fastest man-made space objects
Launched into narrow elliptical orbits in 1974 and 1976, the Helios 1 and 2 probes move fastest as they skim the sun slightly inside Mercury’s orbit. At their farthest out, they reach nearly to the Earth’s orbit and slow to one fifth of their top speed.

the speed of light...

umm i remember middle school science teacher told me that travelling the speed of light you can go from the earth to the moon in about a second :S

this thread is pointless argueing between the ones who know and the rest of those clowndicks that make up HMT. and how long did it take you to get those numbers buk, you must be bored. live your time like it moves a minute per minute.

They sent one into orbit on the shuttle, it was a test on the effects of gravity manipulating space time, we aren't capable of approaching the speed of light, we've just recently broken the sound barrier (1950's-60's). Theoretically you would be moving backward through time, assuming that time flows in an orderly fashion, but there is one problem things moving as fast as light do not adhere to any kind of molecular structure, i.e. you become miniscule spaghetti distended through space. Until we can figure out how to assimilate matter at that velocity we can't go that fast, and as of right now we are lightyears away from anyone even thinking about funding that research.

To the clock idiot,
GET A ------- ROPE

Um, ------- retard? He's right, stupid ----.

But yes, nothing humans are capable of producing at the present time are capable of anything near speed-of-light travel.

i predict within the next 5 years we'll achive the speed of light and travel back in time. but the illuminati will steal the technology and along with the skull and bones will use it to make even more money in oil speculation

That link says I'm right. That experiment was a measure of the effects of gravity on space time, the twin effect, I know what it was. Douchebag was trying to tell me we've sent a clock faster than the speed of light. ::)
It was a crude retarded post I made but that just set me off.

To the light, it feels like it just left before it crashed into your hollow skull. To you, if you could watch the photons physically fly from the sun to you, it'd seem as if around 8 minutes have passed. Time passes more slowly in your frame of reference than it does to the light's frame of reference. So think about that:

The light thinks it just got there, but to you it took 8 minutes. When the light hits you, it's passed 8 minutes in zero time. It TRAVELED INTO THE FUTURE 8 MINUTES.
