Identify This Motor
Tell me what you guys think this motor. I cant see the engine code in this pic take your best guess. I have a type r and as from what I have seen this no type r. The dealer is trying to say it is a type r.

I've never seen or heard of a SOHC Type-R engine. All the ones I've seen were twin cams with a red valve cover. I think this is BS.

HAH someone got it right. Its a Y8 with a Ebay Type R cover.

He's right this is a rare edition, its a 1991 and a half Civic. It is a type R. Very limited production, i believe this was the only one. It has Mad VTAK, high polished muffler bearings and synthetic valve lubers for when the mad VTaK kicks.
Think about it, its oviously a Y8 newb |

It's a y series sohc from the placement of the dipstick. Now to tell if it's y5 or y8 need to see the engine stamp. The y8 and y5 have the same looking intake manifold. Pretty sure it's just a EX civic once owned by Uncle Ben.
