Tell me what you guys think this motor. I cant see the engine code in this pic take your best guess. I have a type r and as from what I have seen this no type r. The dealer is trying to say it is a type r.

Re: Identify This Motor

I've never seen or heard of a SOHC Type-R engine. All the ones I've seen were twin cams with a red valve cover. I think this is BS.

Re: Identify This Motor

He's right this is a rare edition, its a 1991 and a half Civic. It is a type R. Very limited production, i believe this was the only one. It has Mad VTAK, high polished muffler bearings and synthetic valve lubers for when the mad VTaK kicks.

Think about it, its oviously a Y8 newb

Re: Identify This Motor

It's a y series sohc from the placement of the dipstick. Now to tell if it's y5 or y8 need to see the engine stamp. The y8 and y5 have the same looking intake manifold. Pretty sure it's just a EX civic once owned by Uncle Ben.

Re: Identify This Motor

you guys are noobs ::) , its obviously a d24c5. Honda made it on a very limited production. its a 500hp 2.4 liter monster. that thing on the end of the charge pipe is a ractive Übercharger designed specificly for honda. it uses cold fusion to compress air. duh

It's half a type r, the other half is on its way overnight from Japan. Brian couldn't have just one, he needed two, of the big ones.
