ICE
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been having raids in Asheville recently. The first was back in September (defense contractor that makes parachutes hired either 47 or 57 illegals and falsified their paperwork), not much since, but apparently they conducted another raid today and have a number of targets already picked out.
My mom works in an lawyer's office where one of the lawyers has a few Mexican clients. She texts me five minutes ago that one of the clients just turned in ~30 other illegals (name, residence, place of employment, etc) to make a deal for herself.

Re: ICE
I understand more French than Spanish, and although they are largely a race of *********** the average never-been-to-America Frenchie knows more english than the average moved-to-America-and won't-leave illegal. I can respect someone who wants to work, but that's only half as they need to want to be Americans. Please bring your cultural identity but you must assimilate with ours on basic, functional levels which includes learning - or caring to exercise - enough english to ask where the restroom is.
Every hispanic I've worked with I liked, just like I like anyone who works and has some basic ethical standard which requires they support their self. That's good people. But there are flocks of these guys rolling out to the strip when I'm trying to pick a few streetraces and piling thirty deep on some poor 17 year old kid that's not as strapping or built as my wholly unimpressive self. Large portions of them truly don't care, and that large portion is restricted entirely to the willfully illegal hispanics. If they get arrested and deported for one (or more) felony they are back three months later under a different name - hard to keep track of someone allowed to cruise around with no proof of who they are. There's no repercussion.
