I had an '83 SJ410, no factory lockers in it, but it did have a whole 1000cc of 48hp furry... 
, rihno lined ext. DA integra seats, spring over and 33's. It was fun till I almost burned it to the ground bouncing up a fsr, and had a bad ground, the battery decided to ground through the clutch and throttle cables, burnt the throttle cable completely b4 I got it out. Thank god the previous owner had put a hand throttle in too. Still a long ride home.
Kinda miss it, but at the end of the day if I had another I might as well just buy a toyota, as all the running gear would end up being yota stuff anyway. Also gotta go with Brine04 doesn't matter as long as the tub is rust free, the rest of that ---- will get cut up anyway...

Come to AZ. I don't even know what rust looks like. :P I know a guy who picked one up recently for a couple hundered bucks, NO RUST and runs and drives fine.

I agree with DrBoost, AZ has plenty of Samurais. Just hit up Phoenix Craigs List, I saw quite a few on there.
Someday I hope to build one like they did on extreme 4x4. I even have the episodes on PVR for later reference.

I was trying to find one for my wife to wheel. I gave up looking for a reasonably priced one that wasn't a complete rot box. I was going to do some toyota axles, geared and locked. Cage it and call it good for her. Insted I just bought another Cherokee. Its going to get the same set up as my red one. 4.5 lift, 32's or 33's, gears, lockers, and maybe the same long arm set up as my red one.
