I got 2 quick pics of the radiator before the batteries in my camera died...

2.5" thickness on the core, bar and plate style...so I doubt taking it to a rad shop and having them cut it down is going to even work or be an option.

This is the lowest I can get it to sit. It looks like I might be able to trim the hood again and get it to close, I'll find out in a little while. :-\

Thats a shitty design, cap raised up and then prtruding an inch

Streetimports cooler has the a low pro style cap and its on the lowerred side of the rad

Just switch em man, no use ghettoizing something when you can sell that for just as much money ast eh new unit costs

Yeah tell me about it. :P I can almosttt get it to clear, when I put the rad cap on with the radiator in the spot I want it just barely hits the hood. Even worse about the design is the rad cap sits with the tabs front to back instead of sideways like they should be...I think the guy who welded it together musta been smokin' crack that day. >:(

Sell it on HT, make a profit

Why would it be so heavy though? Mine is literally probably 2.5-3.5lbs

Maybe because of the bar and plate design. It's not like your traditional brass tubing or aluminum tubing core...it's like a bar and plate intercooler turned sideways with different end tanks. :) When I talked to the guy he said most people run them in drag civics where they need alot more cooling than even the standard upgraded radiator could do...I think I went a little overboard. :l

But at least I got it to fit now...took a big hammer to where the lower hose sits on the crossmember and banged it in a little...was just enough for the extra bit of room I needed. An SiR style hood would definately help out for clearance room though. Are there any companies (besides password jdm and their $700 carbon fiber version :l ) that make the SiR style raised hood to match the usdm headlights?

Company on ebay makes them, carbonceation or something, but the coating aparently doesnt hold up to well in the son

Guy on HT called CaronAll (I think) makes replaces VIS's but there still spendy

Why change the hood, when you can spend $150 and get a rad that fits right the first time?

You can notch the factory xmember (I have one from a 91 EF, if you are int. PM me), or just get a set of traction bars.

That's pretty much what I did so far...notched just enough to let the bottom tank sit lower. A good set of traction bars is on the list for down the road.

I just welded 2 flat bar pieces to the bottom of the factory crossmember. Mine sat LOW.

How the hell did you get yours to sit that low? ??? Usually the bottom hose hits the crossmember in that little notch area and limits how far down you can get it.
