If you can get two cars, go for it.
I would go with a Civic 88-95 are good choices and a another daily driver.
I have a Crx and a 89 Toyota Truck and I really like that I dont have worry about putting parts in my car cause I use my Truck as a hauler and Daily Driver.

another good little start car are the late 80's early 90's sentras. those have great potential and are generally cheap. and will run as long as the civic.
My first car was a 90 sentra, and that thing was fun, and waaaay freakin easy to wrench on. I changed a clutch myself without prior experience when i was 17.
If you could find an cheap infinit g20 that would be another car with great turbo potential in it.
