After fixing a bunch of crap *** installs and stupid mechanic mistakes....I will NEVER NEVER take my car to a shop....unless its to dyno tune. I only trust me to work on my car....

Think thats extreme I should show you what they did on wiring in my friend's civic...he paid a mint to have it done, then bought me a 6 pack to fix it with a soldering iron

so i just got off the phone with the mechanic and it was $45 for the tow. The diagnosis was that my clutch is still in good shape but my master/slave cylinder system was actually bleeding hydrolics from the firewall down the interior of my car and on my carpet . So they are replacing both, draining the hydrolics, and refilling the lines and charging me $200-225. So its gonna be about $250ish including the tow.....

well, i guess if it looks brand new :P i don't know, get some kind of receipt for just the part itself (chances are they, don't have one in stock and had to buy it or order it, therefore, they would have their receipt) i don't know? if it's a good clean shop with a reputable name, you prolly don't have to worry about it.

if they havn't done it already, go in there with a black marker, and mark your slave cylinder if it comes out of the shop with the mark still there they didn't change it.

Ask for the old parts.

This is why you should have done this yourself. It's as easy as changing your oil. You do know how to change your oil, right?

I will NEVER take my car to a shop. If I can't fix it, it won't get fixed. My uncle is a mechanic and I won't even trust him to work on my vehicles. He has never touched my Civic.

the thing that scares me about shops is that they have such a broad, general knowledge of cars. We took my friends MR2 for an oil change cause you got a free car wash by doing it (and it was like 12.99) and i watched the guy take of the front skid plate, scratch his head cause he couldn't find the engine, call like 6 guys over there to help him, and didn't get it untill i walked up and pointed it out to him that it's a mid engine car.

my point is, I would trust a shop that speciallizes in my car. for the same reason why I trust myself with my car, I know it inside and out. If I owned a dsm, ---- eah i'd take it to roadrace engineering, or if I owned a skyline (and lived in japan) ---- yeah i'd take it to Matchless crowd racing. Even more specialized then that, if I owned an NA B-series honda, ---- yeah i'd take it to Inline four. But am i going to take my pride and joy to jiffy lube where they work on toyota camrys and hyundais all day? ---- NO.

I take my ---- to PepBoys to get all of my APC parts and stickers installed. They really know how to put on stickers to get the most HP per square inch.
