I have a ------- virus.

Re: I have a ------- virus.
Cheap bastards didn't send me any discs. I did the whole reformat before but I can't remember how to do it. Everything I found on the net sends me to the system restore. That doesn't get rid of the problem. I hate computers.

haha, yea pretty much what cain said is the best answer, whether it is the sasser virus or not, you should really go look about and find about how to fix it, don;t let the computer kick your *** man, lol.
heres a thread with a guy having a similar issue on a ( hacker, for lack of a better word) website that i visit alot

you should really go download hijackthis! and then go here http://castlecops.com/HijackThis.html#r to learn how to use it and decipher what it tells you.
that spylab trojan is pretty hard to get rid of though, you have to edit a few registry values , seems like there is some ---- that sony used to copywrite their cd's installs itself to whatever pc you run it on, but they have a tool on their site that you can use to unistall those programs.
but for that spyfalcon, spyaxe, removal, go here for the tutorial.

i think with reinstalling xp you will need a image disk ( you can make one if you have some type of ghosting software) or i THINK you can copy all the files onto a cd, make a boot disk, then boot your machine with the boot disk and then format your harddrive, partition it, then run the setup.exe from the command prompt, don't think i have tried that with xp though....

Re: I have a ------- virus.
Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to jump up and down Dells *** tomorrow and get my OS discs. I was cheap and didn't get any type of burner so I can't copy anything. I did the system restore that takes it back a few months and it subdued the virus for now. Thanks again!
