I got me a BMW hype ARRRRRR

Update: she's mine for $5,512. :)

I've already decided on it, but I wanted to trial by fire it on HMT.

Going down this weekend to look at it, seal the deal on his computer if I like it. Bringing my stepfather and bmw tech friend with me. :1

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

I approve. Talk to Urinemachine and turbo that ASAP.

Oh... and lose the M5 badges, lol. Also, in '96 they switched from plastic impellar water pumps to pumps with metal fins. So, you should check with the owner to see if that has been replaced since they have a tendancy to fail (then overheat... warp your motor... you know, normal german stuff)

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

it's gonna cost at LEAST $6500 to turbo that. I read it on the internet.

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

I will ONLY buy a manual car with 4 doors, leather, and all the amenities. This thing has what I need, now I just need to get the seller to work with me and it will be done. If it goes to a bidding war or someone buys it now, that would be the only way I get fucked. One can never tell with bees. Good luck to me.

posting cars that have automatics and shoddy motors doesnt help. nothing on the lexus side short of a 2jz machine interests me.

1 pipe = 100hp

400hp - badges = 371hp 8)

Econo-Box 08-03-2007 01:08 PM

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

I think here in VA if you go to the DMV ahead of time and tell them what your doing they can give you Temp tags for the trip. check into that, not too sure if thats right.

ichbinsobose 08-03-2007 01:39 PM

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

dmv = owns me
im thinking of throwing my current cars tags on it if i miraculously manage to get this car anyways

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

I agree. Cops will have no mercy if they catch you with fake tags(from another car). If you have no tags and a bill of sale they will probably just let you go home with no ticket or anything. Happened to me plenty of times. I drove a car from CA 300+ miles with nothing but a bill of sale. Got pulled over about 20 miles from home and showed the cop the bill of sale and he said have a nice night. :6

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

DO NOT SWAP TAGS
It carries a lot more of ---- than a regular traffic infraction.
I got arreseted and charged w/ a misdemeanor for altering a temp tag. Still going to court for it. Took a black sharpie to the 7 and made it an 8.... completely obvious if you're looking but ---- it i'm a dumb ass and my cousin in law is a fantastic attorney.

Another time i got very lucky because i had the tags off a black 3 series on a black 5. They just ran the plates and heard black bmw. So it was all good. I wasn't even driving it was parked illegally but from what i heard they can impound the car. Do you have anyidea how hard it will be to get a car out of impound that technically you don't own if it isn't titled in your name??

Be smart the first time around and you'll be a lot better off, even if it costs a couple extra bucks. I learned that the hard way after last summer. Two cars got impounded....impound fees; legal fees; fines....there goes your profit if you're trying to flip them for a couple dollars.

ichbinsobose 08-03-2007 04:22 PM

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

yea no swapped tags then. The dmv is closed weekends, auction ends on sat. night, and to title/register it in NY after everything will be over 600$ hahaha ------- owned.

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

yup
approximate ny charges to get the car on the road
15 tag
50 title
55 some tax
couple hundred sales tax AFTER paying VA sales tax
557 for something based on vehicle weight
The dmv guy just ran off this list of fees. Pretty gay.

Re: 95 525i with german type r badges, what do you think?

I mean i'm not saying i'm one to evade taxes ;) butttttt 600 is a lot to register that.... shouldn't be more than four, four fifty max....

It's an old car, look around what beat up ones are going for. Or take the wholesale value. 1995 is more than 10 years old. It's exempt from stating the mileage.....

I should probably be knocking on wood because with my luck i'll get indicted on monday for tax evasion.

You don't pay tax in va. Only where the cars gonna be registered and that's ny and in ny the very credible register gets to declare the value..... read the dtf802 form. They try to scare you with the consequences of tax evasion.
