I thought it was just the headgasket like my previous problems, but it looks like piston #4 melted. kinda odd that piston #4 melted before #3. I could I be looking at an injector problem here? This thread is worthless without pictures.

:chacha: I just need to get some of that quick weld and I can patch this right up right ?
I guess the 1.5l didnt like 15lb+, tell you what I sure did like it though. That motor took 3 years of daily trashing, I'm still curious about piston #4.

I dont know what caused it to melt, thats why I'm almost leaning towards the fuel injectors... I just dont get why number 4 melted and number 3 looks perfect.
I'm not running anything great. I got the standard stuff like DSM injectors, crome fuel map thats wideband tuned. The first two years I ran uberdata, walbro pump, and DSM injectors. Its been a very solid setup. I have broken a transmission though, used up a couple clutches, the normal wear and tear stuff from track abuse and a bad case of wheel hop.

I double checked the date, I got that motor july of 2003. I abused it from day 1. It came with 210 compression and last check it had 205, so it was still healthy a few months ago.

I had the same thing happen on my second engine but it only took me a few days to blow up I was leaning towards an injector failure as well, but I was also in the process of tuning and may have run way tooo rich.
