that would be worthless for for weight reduction, unless you plan to replace the roof.
that is gay, cf is ok in my book, as long as its real, and does something, besides cover something else.(like a metal roof)

Re: I decided to go carbon

alot of those covers from that guy on h-t are just to cover to roof...his instructions clearly state "resin on top of your preexisting roof"

i like the CF look and the weight reduction, i have a cf hood and made my own cf sunroof plug. but if you really want to sav eweight and not break the bank you can always use fiberglass. a friend of mine ordered some fiberglass fenders and had them painted to match his car, looked stock and were light as hell. i seen a car one time in renton that had carbon fiber hood, fenders, doors, front lip and sunroof plug. looked pretty gay IMO. i think it looks nice if it is done tastefully and not too much of it.

There is nothing wrong with carbon fibrer as long as you paint over it. Otherwise its pure faggotry.

PS: Clean does not mean a bunch of randomly placed carbon fiber panels. I've never seen expensive, high class sports cars with random carbon fiber panels. If they use composite paneling, they paint over it.

the point of a regular street/track car getting carbon fiber is for the look, a little offset here and there. for example a green car with carbon fiber hood , and carbon fiber trunk lid, not a painted black hood like most people do on hmt. the purpose is for the pattern that the carbon fiber has.
its for looks, it looks great on many cars and liked my most. why spend the money for it if you going to paint it? then I would just get fiberglass then.
I personally think there is nothing wrong with a freshly painted car having a
clearcoated carbon hood
clearcoated trunk lid
and front and rear lips
it just give the car color a nicer look.

its funny. you put carbon fiber ---- on the car for weight reduction, then paint it. do you know how much paint weighs? its almost negating any weight loss you've put into the car.
